Angles in Triangles
Angles in Triangles worksheet for KS3 students.
This fast-progressing worksheet takes students through a whole range of angles in triangles problems and will suit a variety of learners and year groups.
In section A, learners will calculate the missing angles in triangles where two angles are known, and calculate missing angles in isosceles triangles where either one base angle or the top angle is known and in an equilateral triangle.
Section B consists of multi-step problems, including the use of external and vertically opposite angles and triangles within triangles.
Challenge your students with an extension question that will present them with an isosceles triangle within a pentagon and introduce the concept of interior and exterior angles of regular polygons.
Suitable for: Year 7, Year 8, Year 9

One number as a fraction of another
One number as a fraction of another worksheet. Equivalent Fractions practice for KS3 students.
Section A gives some simple worded statements which need to be written as fractions.
Section B then provides problems involving shaded shapes, real-life contexts and percentages that will involve writing one value as a fraction of another. An extension question brings in a reasoning style problem.

Line graphs
Line graphs worksheet for students in KS3.
This worksheet provides learners some practice with plotting and reading line graphs.
Section A presents two tables of data and labelled axes for each. Learners need to plot the coordinates and join the points with straight line segments to form line graphs.
Section B then provides the line graphs and learners must complete the tables of data by reading off the coordinates.

Order of operations – multiplication, division, addition and subtraction
Order of operations – multiplication, division, addition and subtraction worksheet for KS3 students.
This worksheet is perfect for learners beginning to calculate with the correct order of operations (formally known as BODMAS) as it only includes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Section A begins with an example where we have underlined which part of the calculation will be worked out first. Students are encouraged to do the same when calculating for themselves. The example is followed by three questions which contain two different operations.
Again, section B kicks off with an example. In this section, expressions contain three operations, so learners must identify which calculation to do first and which calculation to do second.
In section C, pupils will choose the correct answer to a calculation from three possible answers. Answers have been ‘planted’ to draw out misconceptions.
Section D consists of 15 further questions for students to answer using the correct order of operations.
Finally, section E contains two spots, correct and explain the mistake questions.

Multiplying fractions
Multiplying fractions worksheet for KS3 students.
Truly strengthen your student’s understanding of the process of multiplying fractions with this varied worksheet. The multiple sections here will mean no learner gets bored practising this seemingly ‘easy’ skill.
Section A is a perfect conversation starter between student and teacher or between peers as it encourages students to think about the why and what’s changing with these carefully chosen questions.
Practice fluency in section B’s multiplication grid and section C’s fill the gaps task.
Allow students to articulate their knowledge in section D with this ‘spot, explain and correct the mistakes’ activity.
Now, challenge your learners with the algebraic fractions in section E and the tricky puzzles in Section F.

Combining transformations
Combining transformations worksheet.
Combining Transformations is perfect for students who are following a higher-tier scheme of learning.
In section A, students will answer six questions by carrying out two transformations on each object. All questions are answered on individual axes and your pupils can do this on our write-on worksheet. Enlargements include negative and fractional scale factors and equations of lines are given for reflections.
Section B is again made up of 6 questions on separate axes. This time, the object and image are drawn and students will describe the two transformations that map the object to the image. Hints are included at the bottom of the page as we have provided all the transformations your learners will need.
Next, in section C, pupils will describe two transformations as a single transformation.
Finally, section D looks at invariance.

Use formal methods for addition of integers
Use formal methods for addition of integers worksheet. Column method addition.
Pupils will take a deep dive into using the column method for addition whilst working through this worksheet.
Section A kicks off with 4 addition questions where the numbers are already drawn out on a square grid. Two questions need no regrouping and 2 questions do, also in 2 questions, the numbers to be added contain a different amount of digits.
Next learners will complete four further addition questions however this time they will have to put the numbers into the column addition layout themselves before completing the addition. A square grid is provided. Included is an addition of two numbers from words.
In section C pupils will spot, explain and correct the mistakes in two complete additions. Lastly, section D challenges learners’ understanding of using the column method as they have to fill the gaps to complete three column additions.

Calculator display – time
Calculator display – time worksheet for Year 7 students.
Students will learn how to interpret fractions and decimals as time when using a calculator to calculate with time and how to make use of the degree, minutes and seconds buttons.
In section A, pupils are faced with six calculator displays of terminating and recurring decimal numbers, such as 10.1, which they will interpret as hours and minutes as well as minutes and seconds.
Next, students will interpret mixed numbers and improper fractions as time in hours and minutes.
Section C teaches learners how to use the degree, minute and second buttons on a calculator and then use to convert decimals and fractions to time and vice versa.

Expanding double brackets using the grid method
Expanding double brackets using the grid method worksheet for KS3 students.
Introduce your students to expanding double brackets with this worksheet that uses algebra tiles and the area model/grid method throughout.
Section A begins with an example showing the method using algebra tiles, and the next couple of questions are scaffolded to ease learners in. The section also starts with only positive terms and builds to seeing students expanding brackets with both positive and negative terms, including negative variables.
Starting again with an example, section B consists of expressions that, when expanded, x2 has a coefficient different to 1 and -1.
x is the only variable used throughout the worksheet to give your students consistency.
