Things are always easier when its directly relatable and applicable, finding ways to improve the water quality of other school children around the world will hit a strong cord. Students will spend time trying to filter clean water through different methods that they create and then add them all to a big pot at the front. The culmination of this series, students are given free reign to seperate out iron filings, salt, sand and pebbles, to increase the challenge you can add wood chippings and for super high ability vegetable oil.
