The aliens are all my own design and those who have the same sound but a different way of writing it are the same shaped alien but a different colour, helping to identify sound families. This carries over to the Phase 5 version. There is an alien for each sound and 6 sets of underwear (vest and underpants). Vests have real words and the underpants have nonsense words. This resource has been designed to be open ended and used in many ways. Some ideas for how to use are listed below: Matching – match either vest or underpants or even both to the alien that has the sound that’s in the words. Pick a pair – match a vest and underpants that contain the same sound. Or match the alien to either the vest or the underpants. Sorting – sort the alien words from the real words. Bingo – pick either a vest or underpants and read the word. Hold up the alien whose sound is in the word. Display – make a washing line, place an alien next to it. Sort out which underwear belongs to him and hang it on the line. A fun resource to practice pseudo words and phonics that will fit into your Alien or space topics.

This set can be used to play the following card games depending on age and/or ability of the players. There is a set for each Phase 5 sound. Go Spider! (played the same as Go Fish!), Pairs (memory game) and Snap. Instructions for how to play are included in the file. Cards could also be used for sorting and matching activities. The cards for ue, ew and u-e have pictures/words for both the oo and yoo sounds. Split digraph cards are words.

This pack contains eighteen board type games for the Read Write Inc Red Words. They have been organised into the 4 sets. Each board covers five words from the set with the words repeat 3 or 4 times. Ideally use with a 1-3 dice. Great to consolidate their learning, using for interventions or even send home.

This game has been designed to be used as revision and interventions. Depending on the focus the cards can be used in different ways (see following pages for details). Not all the cards need to be used. For example you might wish to revise split digraphs so you would use the sound and word cards for those and any alien words cards that use those and previous sounds. For intervention you may want to focus on sounds and words your students need more practice with. Ideally use with 2 – players. It can be used with a 1-3 or 1-6 dice depending on time and preference.

This pack contains 97 Snowman Puzzles for CVC words. Print onto card and/or laminate depending on preference. Cut along the dotted lines. Great festive activity for continuous provision or interventions.

A collection of cut and stick worksheets for Phase 2. These cover words from sets 1 to 5 sounds. Pupils cut the pictures and match it to the correct word. Simply photocopy and use either in your phonics lessons or send home. All works sheets are in black and white to save on photocopying costs.

This park contains Christmas Tree Bingo Boards for the Phase 2 sets 1-5 and Phase 3 sets 1-7. Pick a bauble card from a bag or pile. If the word that matches the picture on the bauble in on the board cover it with a counter or pompoms. Instead of using fingers these could be placed with tweezers.

This pack contains 6 sets of sound boards with matching car cards which have the sounds on them. Included in the pack are word boards which are sectioned into set 1-3 words, 1-4 words and 1-5 words. These also have matching car cards with the words on them. How to use: Either use the labelled car cards with the words or sounds for a matching activity or sound out the word or say the sound and players park their car in the correct bay. Alternative use the word boards and players park their car in the bay that rhymes with the word you say.

This is not editable as images need to be secure as per the terms of the clipart licences from TpT which are for commercial use. Has a page where you can click on the sound and it will take you to the section with an alien named after each sound You will need to click the alien will appear, click again and his speech bubble with name will appear and a final click reveals the sound buttons.

Sets 1-3 are included. Oh No! Game is an alternate to flashing sounds and the children have loved it! How to play Place all the cards in a small bag. Pass the bag around the group. Each child picks a card and says the sound on their card. If the children gets the sound right they keep the card (younger children may ask a friend for help). If the child picks an ‘Oh no!’ card they have to say ‘Oh no!’ and put any cards they have won back in the bag. (They can say ‘Oh no!’ in a silly voice)

These games cover the consonant digraphs and vowel sounds in Phase 3. Apart from a few of pictures, mainly the ure sound (treasure, picture) it can also be used to write the word. Use them as an alternative to quick writing the sound or flashing the sounds. Children can either say or write the sound when they land on it. If they don't get it right they move back to the picture they were on before. Ideally play in pairs with a 1- 3 dice.
