This resource will save you many hours work when trying to use Assessment for Learning in your class.
There are two QLA grids included in one Excel document for help with Gap Analysis.
Arithmetic
Reasoning
Input the data using the marks from the papers and the grid will change colour to show where a child has been successful or not answered a question correctly, or at all.
The spreadsheet will auto-calculate how successful the whole cohort has been on particular questions. These are linked directly to the WRM small steps so you can see which lessons and steps need to be revised. 30 children can be entered in this document.
The total score thresholds auto-calculate and change colour to help indicate which children are working at approximately an expected standard (EXS) level or a Greater Depth (GDS) level. These thresholds use historical KS2 SATs thresholds to make them as accurate as possible.
Please note, some of the cells are locked for editing so that users do not break the spreadsheet functionality. Passwords will not be given out. However, I am more than happy to assist with any adaptations you need.

This is an excel spreadsheet document for the Gov.uk Year Six Sample Papers for Reading, Mathematics (Arithmetic, Reasoning 1 & 2), GPS and Spelling Papers. The sheet totals up the scores automatically and each child's final score changes colour to reflect their ability.
If their total score for a subject goes green, it means they would have passed the 2016 SATs with that score. If it goes Orange, it means they are within touching distance. If it goes Green with a yellow font, it means that child would have achieved a 'More Able' score for that tested subject.
The spreadsheet is broken down into six pages. Arithmetic, Reasoning 1, Reasoning 2, Reading, GPS and Spelling.
I have also included a digital copy of each test, mark scheme and instructions. Additionally, I have included the conversion tables from RAW Score to Scaled Score. These can be found inside the .Zip file.
The sheets are set up for 30 pupils but more can be added/deleted and instructions are on the first page/sheet. Some cells are locked/protected in this document but the parts that you need to insert yourself are editable. This is so that the formulas/algorithms do not break and render the spreadsheet's functionalities as broken.

This is a differentiated worksheet to help children master angles on a straight line.
Children are challenged to:
- name the type of angle a ‘missing angle’ is.
- calculate its size in degrees
- measure it accurately using a protractor.
There are two sheets, an Expected Standard sheet and a more challenging Greater Depth sheet (2016+ Curriculum). On each sheet there are nine missing angles, meaning that children have 27 things to do in order to complete one activity sheet.

This is an activity that will challenge all children in a class. Suitable for Years 5-8 (depending on ability).
To complete this activity children will need to:
- recall the number of sides for polygons down to a dodecagon
- use algebra to calculate the sum of the interior angles for each shape
- find the size of each interior angle using logic (division)
- calculate the size of each exterior angle (180 - interior angle = exterior angle)
This will get the room buzzing and you'll see your children using many skills during the same lesson.
I have colour banded the activity four ways:
-Blue (easiest)
-White (Middle)
- Green (challenging)
- Purple (Mastery)

This is a 4-way differentiated worksheet/activity sheet that tests children's understanding of how to add a mixed number to a proper fraction, which is tested at the end of Year Six and onwards in SATs assessments (arithmetic/reasoning) and in other end of year assessments.
There are four challenges:
-Add a mixed number to a proper fraction (same denominators).
-Add a mixed number to a proper fraction (different denominators).
-Add two mixed numbers to a proper fraction (same denominators)
-Add two mixed numbers to a proper fraction (different denominators)
At each stage, children will be expected to give their answer in its simplest form, as is standard practice in the assessed tests.

Suitable for Years 5-7, this worksheet challenges children to use their knowledge of substitution to find the value of an equation.
Instead of the usual 'a', 'b', 'c' etc, this activity asks children to find the value of equations that contain snowmen, angels, presents, santas etc.
This is a 4-way differentiated rounding activity sheet/worksheet that will help children master rounding.
The four challenges are:
-Round the to the nearest ten.
-Round to the nearest hundred and thousand
-Round to the nearest ten thousand and hundred thousand
-Round to the nearest tenth and hundredth
This is a 3-way differentiated worksheet/activity sheet that tests children’s knowledge of percentages.
The three challenges are as follows:
-Find 10% of a quantity.

Higher Ability - Twelve shapes on a sheet that children need to name (no names given to match).
A Roman Numerals activity sheet for More Able/High ability children.
They are required to turn the Roman Numeral Calculation into an 'Arabic numbers' calculation, then work out the answer and express it back in Roman Numerals.
This really gets a buzz going.

A two-way differentiated activity sheet/worksheet that will develop the children’s understanding of bar graphs, data handling, averages and data handling vocabulary.
Sheet 1 - 8 Questions asking about the warmest/coldest months, difference in temperature between months. There are two data sets on the graph (two lines, same axes)
Sheet 2 - 8 Questions focusing more on averages and trends. There are three data sets on the same axes. Completely different questions.
Answers are provided for both sheets. I have provided two different layouts which also add to the challenge. One has a wider line graph set, the other has a narrower set. This will test children’s adaptability to varying presentations.
