Includes a differentiated starter, detailed line annotations of the whole scene, comprehension questions and a final activity that asks students to write an analytical paragraph about the scene. Also includes a grade 7 exam response based on an extract from Act 4 Scene 2 exploring how women are presented in the play.

Exam walk-through style lesson answering the following question: Starting with this extract (from Act 1 Scene 7) how does Shakespeare present ideas about masculinity? (34 marks). The lesson examines the extract with detailed annotations and then looks at 3 other key scenes in which masculinity is important. 3 intervention catch-up sessions aimed at Paper 2 Question 3. Each session looks at a short extract and includes annotations, a model paragraph and a writing frame for students who require it. Students then use the model to attempt their own paragraph in the same style on a different quotation.

A detailed revision lesson covering many key quotations from Stave 1 of A Christmas Carol. Each quotation appears chronologically to assist with annotating the text. Instructions for the lesson. Give out the worksheet with the 28 key quotations from Stave 1 and asked students to jot down their ideas in the blank boxes. Then in the second half of the lesson, go through the teacher answers either on the PowerPoint or on the answers worksheet.

A timeline revision activity where students track and explain Romeo key quotations across the play to help understand how his character develops across the play. Includes an answer sheet.
