This PowerPoint guides students through how to plan and structure 5 exam responses. Each plan has click-activated animations to talk through the process of constructing an answer. The plan is written in short hand to help students with note-taking. Each plan guides students to work through the text chronologically. PowerPoint for an exam walk-through looking at the AQA Question from May 2017. Differentiated starter: define the key words linked to male aggression and make links. Main: Analyse 5 key extracts that demonstrate male aggression with a focus on A01 and A02. Suggested answers are on the PowerPoint to guide students through each extract. Plenary: Draw a line graph to chart the intensity of male aggression across the play. 4 detailed essay plans on A Christmas Carol to convert into 4 essays. A detailed success criteria is provided for each paragraph. This A Christmas Carol resource offers 3 levels of differentiation to help guide students on how to structure a full length response on the following 4 themes/topics: children, materialism, ghosts, Christmas. Tier 1 difficulty (I do): Big idea, topic sentences and quotations are provided. Students add the analysis of the quotations. Tier 2 difficulty (We do): Students must choose 2 quotations to support each topic sentence and analyse the quotations. Tier 3 difficulty (You do): Students have to generate the big idea, the topic sentences, 2 quotations a paragraph and the quotation analysis.

A range of resources to support the teaching of how Macbeth’s character changes across the play. Includes a timeline to complete to track Macbeth’s changes. Includes a revision sheet with high level analysis of 13 key quotations linked to the AOs. Students are provided with a very short extract and an exam-style question. I made the extracts shorter than normal to make it more accessible for the students. The writing frame starts off each paragraph for the student. There is then space for the students to use their knowledge of the play to add further analysis of each quotation. It has been designed to fit onto A4 sheets for ease of printing. For some students it may be necessary to enlarge the sheet to A3. These resources help build student confidence and is an important step for helping them structure their answers independently.
