A music activity to help children to learn to play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on the ocarina.
The children first practise playing the different notes with each note having a name to help children to remember them. Children then practise playing the first line of the song on their ocarina, then the first two lines followed by playing the next two lines and then playing the whole song.
Children of all ages and abilities can learn to play the ocarina and have great fun making music.
A set of high frequency word flashcards covering the first 100 hfw.
The words are split into ten colour coded groups with ten words in each set meaning that the class can focus on ten words at a time. Each card shows the high frequency word in different fonts.
Adjectives Complete Lesson
A complete English lesson for introducing adjectives.
The Powerpoint explains when to use adjectives. Children are then given the opportunity to think of adjectives to describe objects. Children must then identify adjectives in sentences. The lesson includes three differentiated worksheets and a plenary where children have to identify which word is not an adjective.
Conjunctions Complete Lesson
A complete English lesson for introducing conjunctions.
The lesson explains what conjunctions are and when to use them. The lesson focuses on and, but, so and because and demonstrates how to use each of these conjunctions. The lesson is interactive. Children must select the correct conjunction to use in sentences and select the correct ending for sentences and make sure that the sentence makes sense. The lesson includes three sets of differentiated worksheets with three worksheets in each set. There is a plenary at the end of the lesson where children must read a sentence including a conjunction and decide whether the sentence makes sense.

Maths Intervention/Booster
A Maths booster/intervention that can be printed off to create a booklet of activity worksheets for Early Years and Key Stage 1 children. The PowerPoint covers five weeks and covers a range of activities including number writing to 5 and then to 10, missing numbers, number recognition and representation using pictures and addition and subtraction using numbers to 5 and then numbers to 10.
I have used this activity to support children with their understanding of number and addition and subtraction and it has helped to boost their confidence when they return to class.
Teen Numbers Lesson
A complete Maths lesson for introducing teen numbers in a step by step manner. During the main input children practise making teen numbers and can practise writing the number sentences for teen numbers. Children then have to identify numbers - this encourages children to explain their thinking. This Maths lesson includes three differentiated teen number worksheets and a plenary.
Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children however could also be used as a booster or recap for Year 2 children.
A set of 35 time activity cards focusing on o’clock and half past. The activity cards cover telling the time, drawing the time, working out an hour or half an hour more or less, finding the odd time out and problem solving activities.
These cards can be laminated for use during Maths lessons or independent activities or can be printed on a smaller scale to be completed and stuck in Maths books.

A set of 25 Maths Activity Cards to support children when learning about 2D shapes. The activities in this set include drawing 2D shapes, recognising 2D shapes, finding the odd shape out, shape spotting and comparing 2D shapes. The cards can be used to encourage children to discuss 2D shapes using shape related language.

Read a Picture PowerPoint
A set of ten pictures each with a retrieval activity and an imagination activity.
For the retrieval activity, children need to look at the picture and then answer retrieval questions about the picture.
For the imagination activity, children look at the picture and answer questions involving their imagination. This gives the children the opportunity to explain their thinking.

A set of 20 worksheets with ten different pictures. Each picture includes a retrieval worksheet including retrieval questions for children to answer and an imagination worksheet which involves one of a range of activities including writing sentences, drawing a picture to answer the question or writing questions.

Aimed at Key Stage 1 children.
A set of ten pictures and accompanying sentences introducing new vocabulary.
For each picture children have to identify a word within the sentences for example the word that describes the cakes or the word that tells you what the bird is doing. Once they have identified the word and talked about it’s meaning they then need to find other words that they could use instead for example they could replace large with huge, oversized. For the next activity children need to read a sentence and talk about what they think one of the words within the sentence means.
This activity PowerPoint introduces children to new vocabulary and encourages them to use the picture and the whole sentence to discuss what they think words mean. For some children they will be able to read the sentences independently however for other children I will read the sentence to them or with them depending on their ability. This activity focuses on vocabulary and discussing word meaning and not on children’s reading ability.

A set of 50 Maths exit tickets based on Year 1 Maths curriculum.
Exit tickets can be used at the end of a lesson to assess children’s knowledge and understanding. They can be used to assess what the children have learnt during the lesson or their prior knowledge. These Maths exit tickets can be used to assess Maths knowledge about number. Each ticket contains a Maths problem for the children to solve. The Maths problems include missing numbers in number sentences, counting in 2s, 5s and 10s, place value, one more and one less.
These exit tickets can be printed and laminated or displayed on the Interactive Whiteboard. Each child could solve the same problem or they could all have their own ticket - this method is useful for differentiating and assessing the Maths knowledge of specific children.

The little girl in the story has a worry that starts in her tummy and keeps growing and growing until she shares her worry with other people.
The short story can be used during an assembly or as a discussion point during a PSHCE lesson.
This resource also includes three worksheets focussing on worries. The worksheets are draw what you think a worry would look like and then find adjectives to describe a worry, draw somebody that you could talk to about a worry and think about what you could do to help a friend who had a worry.
