Students/Parents: Thank you for considering me as you tutor. I have over 7-years of experience providing top-of-the-line service for hundreds of students taking college level mathematics, and physics. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics with an emphasis of pure math, and am currently in graduate school for mathematics. I love to explain complex information, and am able to do this in a simple fashion that students respond to very quickly.

Incident angle for which ray refracts into water

A flat piece of glass covers the top of a vertical cylinder that is completely filled with water. If a ray of light traveling in the glass is incident on the interface with the water at an angle of = 36.0 , the ray refracted into the water makes an angle of 49.5 with the normal to the interface.

Unpolarized Light With Intensity

In this video presentation from JJ the Tutor we look at how unpolarized light with intensity is incident on two polarizing filters. The axis of the first filter makes an angle of = 60 with the vertical, and the axis of the second filter is horizontal.

Two plane mirrors intersect at right angles

Two plane mirrors intersect at right angles. A laser beam strikes the first of them at a point 11.5 from their point of intersection, as shown in the figure For what angle of incidence at the first mirror will this ray strike the midpoint of the second mirror (which is 28.0 long) after reflecting from the first mirror?

Find the Electric Flux

A point charge q1 = 4.00 nC is located on the x-axis at x = 2.00 m, and a second point charge q2 = -6.00 nC is on the y-axis at y = 1.00 m. What is the total electric flux due to these two point charges through a spherical surface centered at the origin and with radius (a) 0.500 m, (b) 1.50 m, (c) 2.50 m?

A 6.20-mC point charge is at the center of a cube with sides of length 0.500 m. (a) What is the electric flux through one of the six faces of the cube? (b) How would your answer to part (a) change if the sides were 0.250 m long? Explain.

Physics Problem on the Acceleration Vector

(1)
A jet plane is flying at a constant altitude. At time t1 = 0 it has components of velocity vx = 90 m/s, vy = 110 m/s. At time t2 = 30.0 s the components are vx = -170 m/s, vy = 40 m/s. (a) Sketch the velocity vectors at t1 and t2. How do these two vec- tors differ? For this time interval calculate (b) the components of the average acceleration, and © the magnitude and direction of the average acceleration.
