AQA - Atomic Structure and The Periodic Table - Drawing Atoms
This is a revision mat for AQA Combined Science Paper 1.
Specifically looking at Drawing Atoms within the topic Atomic Structure and The Periodic Table.
AQA Electricity Equations - POINTS PURSUIT
This revision mat covers the AQA combined science electricity topic and was designed for use in end of year revision for year 10 students but could easily be used for higher ability year 9s.
POINTS PURSUIT is a gamified revision strategy that can be integrated with any rewards system of your choosing and is a nice way to increase competition. Questions start off as low demand at the top and then progressively increase in difficulty as students move down the sheet - please note that I have used this with higher ability classes and many students have started at the bottom to gain the most points and then worked their way up the sheet as an effective strategy.
I usually complete a sheet under a visualiser and have students swap sheets and coloured pens then follow along to reduce my marking :)

This download includes 2 card sort activities to allow for differentiation. These are both domino style activities where students will make a chain of cards with their answer from the previous card leading directly onto their next question.
The first activity is more suited for higher ability students as students are required to match their component to their description/function rather than the name of the component.
The second card sort is more suited for lower ability students as this one simply includes the names of the components and their symbols.

This activity is designed to be printed 2 to a page and is a perfect end of topic quick summary activity to identify gaps in knowledge.
I have completed one half of the sheet to show example questions for lower ability students and the other for higher ability students. The worksheet is available to be downloaded as a PowerPoint slide and so can be edited as desired or used as is.
I typically allow students to jump in on the ‘spice level’ of their choice if running out of time but prefer to start all students on lemon and herb and have them complete tasks moving up the sheet as a timed activity.
