Children bring in the slip at the bottom of the card when their adult/s feel they have secured the skill. Staff will check in school and children are rewarded e.g. house points, raffle tickets, etc.
Sentence stems to support high quality conversations about writing - both for self assessment and peer assessment.
Print back to back and laminate for a key resource to have to hand in the classroom. These cards go with the other cards in the ‘talk like a …’ set
2 levels of complexity. Set and Set 2
1x PDF = Map Makers Geography Knowledge Mat to provide an example
1 x Word version - Titles and text boxes fully editable, room to add book covers to show texts used, etc.
Tip: download your own funky fonts for free from Dafont website for a fresh look
Print to A3, laminate and pop up on classroom doors. Teachers can add facts that the children have learnt so visitors to the classroom can discuss their learning with them/ check what they have remembered.
E.g. Test us on our… 3 x table
Ask us to spell… together
Question us about… Fair Trade
See if we can remember… how the water cycle works
Use a dry wipe pen and you can keep updating through the year!
This is a link to the Canva template so you can fully edit the cards. They do not feature the inside out characters due to copyright but you can copy and paste your own images in - there is a free download of the character images on my TES - alternatively you can use any images you like or any you find in canva.
The emotion vocab cards - which are large versions of the emotion trees - are also available on my TES and work well with these cards.
I had these printed and made them into key rings and had them enlarged for our playground wall - my instagram shares more info!
Sentence stems to scaffold talk in RE. Ideal for lesson starters, plenaries or discussion tasks throughout the lesson. 2 levels of cards. These ARE NOT editable.
A scaffold to support children looking at model texts and unpicking their key elements e.g. purpose, vocab/ phrases, writer techniques e.g. rhetorical questions, short sentences, personification, modal verbs, etc. This helps children build up an understanding of the intended impact of the text and how the writer creates this. From here children understand the ‘steps to success’ or ‘writer’s toolkit’ or whatever you may call it!
Print and laminate, back to back meaning you have a slightly less complex card and a more challenging one. The cards offer sentence stems to support exploratory discussions - whole class and small group/ paired - across the curriculum.
Sentence stems to support high quality discussions as children plan and carry out investigative work. 2 levels. These cards are NOT editable.
Print, laminate and use over and over again.
Spelling Challenge Cards Level 1-5
Level 1 = phase 3 CEW and HFW
Level 2 = Phase 4 CEW and HFW
Level 3 = Phase 5a
Level 4 = Phase 5b
Level 5 = Phase 5c
Each challenge card is split into bronze, silver and gold (these aren’t progressive, they just offer milestones) Children take the sheets home and practice the words. When they are confident they can spell them, the parents cut the relevant slip off the bottom and send it in to say they are ready to be tested! Teachers can test all/ a random sample of the words to validate.
Each level has bronze, silver and gold certs. Each time a child gets a cert, we offer 3 raffle tickets (in the bundle) and 2 house points (you can add your own rewards!). We will run a termly raffle to win £20!
Characters with backgrounds removed. You can copy and paste these onto the emotions docs or any docs you like! As long as the docs are for your own personal use and not for resale.
