In this activity pupils will find out what jobs there were for ordinary people in the Kingdom of Benin by reading the job descriptions on the cards and matching them to the trade titles.

In this activity, pupils will consider what its surviving artwork tells us about Benin Kingdom. They will use the cards to match the vocabulary to the correct artefact. They could then use these artefacts as inspiration for their own art work.

You could use this as a great way to start a new year, as pupils come together in unity to create a new class poem using the letters in the name of their class.
