Using multiplication charts with my students who to struggle to retain facts has been a game-changer. We start by learning how to use strategies to complete the tables (using the partially-filled chart can make the task much less daunting), then the students complete them more independently as they increase confidence. Students who are comfortable with timing themselves, reduced their time from 15 minutes to 2 minutes!
