Two versions of a KS1 script for the three little pigs. One for Phase 6 readers, the other aimed at those working within phase 5. Designed to be left in a puppet or role play area for independent use by the children. Print on A4 and then fold in half for a smaller, two sided script.
I am using these as a starter activity for children to orally rehearse building persuasive sentences. There are some example reasons on the reverse of the cards as support. (Even pages.) I am using them with a bank of sentence openers that I want the children to apply in their writing during the lesson but this could easily be changed to suit objectives. They aren't that fancy buy can be edited fairly easily.
In this lesson you will make observations to answer the big question - why is it cloudier in the UK than in Mongolia? The children will make clouds in small groups with an adult. This was a science observation lesson that went very well and really engaged the children in some meaningful science. It was in the summer term so the children were able to complete tasks more independently and had prior knowledge about weather. It fits with e Pzaz scheme of learning in Year 2 weather. These photos could be used to introduce a topic about Mongolia, explore the wildlife or draw comparisons between Mongolia and the UK. They are all taken by me. They show a black squirrel, the dusty roads, landscapes, Takhi horses (Przewalski’s horse), marmots, a ger settlement, an eagle in the sky, a crane and some deer. Pack includes 16 photographs on slides.
Tessellating leaf shapes for rolling dice to generate number where the dice lands. Children roll a dice - where is lands that is the first number they use etc. Can be differentiated by using the blank templates to fill in your own numbers.
Spy identification files for children to complete - used as part of a spies and gadgets topic. Children put on spy disguises for their photo and did spy poses too.
