A really fun whole-school resource. This quiz can be used at any time of the year and takes an hour to complete. Relevant for all secondary years, this quiz is very engaging, colourful and full of images!

This is a full PowerPoint (for a 1 hour lesson) which I have used with year 7, 8 and 9 groups. It can be helpful to give the students a reminder of apostrophes for omission before attempting to teach them about apostrophes for possession. This lesson could also be used as a cross-curricular or whole school resource to help students in other subjects understand the importance of correct grammar and amend their work as necessary.
This PowerPoint is colourful, engaging and includes a challenge task which stretched the more able in my group. As a plenary, the PowerPoint also includes a peer assessment task.

These 4 lessons (with attached poems and other necessary resources) have been created for a lower ability year 9 group, as an introduction to war poetry. All lessons have clear instructions and have been created using Microsoft Powerpoint, with possibilities for stretch and challenge highlighted, as well as differentiation for the lower end of the group.
The lessons focus on the poems 'Base Details' and 'Suicide in the Trenches' by Siegfried Sassoon. The lessons explore the use of satire and literary techniques as well as having a close focus on language by analysing connotations.
The lesson on satire worked really well alongside showing Blackadder Goes Forth's 'Goodbye' (the final episode).

This resource contains a Powerpoint lesson created to help my students revise the use of STRIVE (subject, tone, rhyme and rhythm, imagery, vocabulary and effect) which aids them in analysing an unseen poem. It also contains a Word document which is a copy of Armitage's poem, 'Clown Punk'.
This lesson is an excellent resource to introduce using STRIVE as well as using it for revision purposes. It is aimed at set 3 and 4 ability, however could easily be adapted to add stretch and challenge. The Powerpoint provides details for students of different levels of analysis that they could comment on in this poem. For example, after asking students about what imagery they could focus on in 'Clown Punk', there is an animated text box which gives some detailed examples of commentary on the poem.

These three quizzes have been planned to coincide with world days and events: World First Aid Day, World Tourism Day and World Post Day. The quizzes make the perfect form-time activity as they are well presented, engaging and the perfect length at ten questions long. The quizzes have been created for whole-school use and, as such, they are brilliant for use with all secondary age students (years 7-13).
All of the answers are provided on the final slides - happy quizzing!
This resource is a set of 13 mini-quizzes designed to test students’ understanding of plot and key quotations needed in the studying of Romeo and Juliet.
Each quiz is 4 or 5 questions long and the answers are included on a separate slide.
Research shows that revision in short-bursts supports students with the recall that is necessary for the English Literature GCSE exam. I use this 5-a-day revision resource to support my year 10 and 11 students with their recall of their Shakespeare text.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Enjoy!

This includes two lessons (and attached assignment and resource sheets) for remote learning PSHE lessons on voting systems and BREXIT. It was created with KS4 in mind, but could also be used with KS3.
The PowerPoint lessons are engaging and contain notes on each slide with assessment and feedback suggestions for teachers.
This resources was created as part of a new ‘bundle’ of resources which are aimed at meeting the needs of year 7s following the change to the KS2 SATs specification.
It is an engaging and easily accessible worksheet for all abilities. It has opportunity for stretch and challenge (tasks included on the sheet).
A worksheet which gives examples of relative clauses and then gets students to write their own. There is a ‘spooky stories’ theme to match our current year 7 unit and ‘challenge’ boxes will help to stretch and challenge your more able students.
This resource is easy to use for whole classes or for individual intervention and is presented in an engaging way.

This resource is a bookmark designed for use in The Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson.
I have started created these bookmarks as so many of my (secondary age) students struggle finding books that they enjoy reading. Sometimes, getting them to even pick up a book is tricky! I am aiming to make picking a book easier through the use of these bookmarks.
I hope it can be of use to you and your students,
