In this pack, you will find 18 high quality discussion cards for the new AQA French A-Levels based on one of the 4 themes covered by the syllabus.
The theme covered in this pack is: Theme 1 -Aspects of French-speaking society current trends
Like in the actual examination, every card lists the relevant themes and sub-themes;
I added a third category called “Granular theme” which lists the sub-sub theme of the card. This is extremely useful if you use these cards regularly to revise specific granular themes, with the foreign language assistant for instance.
This pack contains 2 different cards on 1 theme x 3 sub-themes x 3 granular themes = 18 cards in total.
I have extensive experience of the AQA A-Level examinations: the difficulty on these cards is finely balanced, and the vocabulary that I deemed too difficult was adapted to match the expectations of the A-Level specifications. Just like in the real examination, the format of the overall majority of the cards is very similar, but from time to time, one might have a slightly modified format. This will help your students adapt to a new situation that they have never encountered before.
I am a French native speaker, and I put a lot of care to ensure that there are no mistakes in the French, the variety of questions that I used, and in the overall quality of this set.
The licensing terms are extremely simple. You may use these cards as you see fit. You may reproduce them, pass them to you colleagues in other schools and encourage them to buy their own license if they decide to use them too. You may not however translate them, resell them in whole or in part, or include them in some of your work that you intend to sell.
You may want to consider buying the full pack of 72 cards covering all the required themes:

I designed this beautiful unicorn speaking mat for my GCSE students in order to bring a little bit of magic into their examination.
The aim of this mat is to help students answer the first question: “Qu’est-ce qu’il y a sur la photo”.
There are four stages, which will help students of all abilities to speak for 40-60 seconds on this question alone.
As this is the very first question, answering well usually gives them a bit of a confidence boost. This is the unicorn magic.
The template needs printing in A3 in colour from Powerpoint.
Students then need to fold it, so that only one section shows at one time. I found it particularly useful with less able students who prefer to have less writing in front of them.
This is now a free resource.
Kindly leave some feedback if you decide to use it with your students.
10 German Target Language Posters for your classroom
In this file you will find 10 target language posters for your classroom.
Print them on A3 in full colour, have them laminated and you are good to go.
