In this math art activity pupils need to identify the gradient (slope US) of a function, rearrangng where necessary from the implicit function to y=mx+c and hence identify the gradient. Pupils then shade all the squares with those answers in the colour stated. As a result pupils will have a picture of an Easter chick. There are** three different worksheets** of increasing difficultly, they are; Worksheet 1: There are 14 questions on finding the gradient from functions where Q1-14 the functions are already in the form y=mx+b (or mx+b=y) and one final question which requires rearranging to get the form y=mx+b Worksheet 2: There are 14 questions, the first 5 pupils find the gradient of functions already in the form y=mx+b and then the remaining questions they must rearrange with the last few giving fractions. Worksheet 3: There are 14 questions and pupils will need to rearrange them all. There are two versions of each worksheet, either condensed to one page as shown in the cover photo, or questions and colour grid split into two pages to give you the flexibility of just doing the questions on the worksheet before any colouring. An arithmetic sequence is defined as a sequence in which there is a common difference between terms. An geometric sequence is defined as a sequence in which there is a common ratio between consecutive terms i.e. every term is a constant multiple (common ratio) of the term preceding it.
