In the ‘Do Now’ activity, pupils place five events from the novel so far on a scale, where 1 is the least exciting and 5 is the most exciting. Pupils then read chapter 227 indicated and complete a range of differentiated tasks that test their understanding. The lesson concludes with a learning review that asks students to identify one emotion that each character is feeling towards the others, basing their answers on the events of Chapter 227.
