I have a wealth of resources that are aimed primarily at KS4 and KS5; however, there are some useful KS3 tasks that have been uploaded this year. Topics at KS5 include: Russia and its Rulers, 1855-1941; Later Tudors, 1547-1603; Popular Culture and the Witchcraze of the 16th and 17th Centuries; Italian Unification, 1830-1870; and Germany, 1890-1990. As well as History, I also have a few resources relating to Geography and ICT that some users may find helpful.

Various resources covering the period of reform and repression under Alexander II and III. Included are worksheets, revision aids and diagrams that explain emancipation, further reforms, industrialisation and the growth of opposition groups. These resources would be invaluable for anyone studying Tsarist Russia before 1894 and would also serve as a good introduction to the Russian Revolution.

Based around two units from a Year 8 SOW focusing on the 16th and 17th centuries (this can be found in my shop). Students are given a range of 1 mark knowledge questions on dates/names/events/definitions associated with the Tudors, English Reformation and the Spanish Armada. This form of assessment would be in addition to knowledge and source essays to practise the skills required for GCSE. Also included is a sheet with answers to all of the questions. The test is 35 questions long (35 marks).

Detailed handout on Elizabeth's relationship with Scotland during her reign. Also included is a map of Europe that highlights the religious state of Europe at this time. This is a concise handout that will be useful for all students studying the Later Tudor period and Elizabeth I. It is perfect as an alternative to the text book, particularly for revision. A task to improve students' knowledge of Microsoft Word; this is ideal practice for the OCR CLAIT Qualification. Students are presented with a piece of text on the history of the goldfish. They must follow the instructions to format and edit the document. I have provided an answer sheet which shows the finished product; students can compare their work with this at the end of the task. Students are asked to cut and paste; insert text; find and replace text etc. An extension activity could be to get students to create their own instructions for a partner to follow.

Resources relating to the AQA 9-1 GCSE Option ‘Russia, 1894-1945’. Included is 3-4 lessons’ worth of activities tackling the issues facing the provisional government in 1917 and the October Revolution (causes, events, roles of Lenin & Trotsky). The PowerPoint includes teaching information, copies of the worksheets, sources and videos (where relevant). There are also practice exam questions included in the slide (usually 1-2 per topic). This is part of a larger bundle covering the entire unit, which can be purchased from my shop. This resource was originally designed for OneNote teaching; however, it can easily be adapted to exercise book teaching in under 5mins. Simply change the phrase ‘in OneNote’ to ‘in your exercise books’ on the PowerPoint. The ‘Understanding the Modern World’ course textbook from Hodder is needed to access some of the activities (however, alternatives can no doubt be found).

Resources relating to the Great Reform Act of 1832. These can be used as part of a wider unit of work on electoral reform (perhaps leading in to women's suffrage?) Included is a summary of the Great Reform Act; a task where pupils have to differentiate between the voting systems of 1830 and 1835; and a PowerPoint presentation for the lesson. Also referenced are two political cartoons that show a for/against view of reform. These should be printed out and distributed for pupils to analyse during the lesson. This is a great introduction to political cartoons, which are used extensively at GCSE.

A fun task to consolidate pupils' understanding of heraldry. I used this with my Year 7 pupils alongside the KS3 text book by Aaron Wilkes. Students will need to be introduced to what Heraldry is before moving on to this task. They are provided with tables that detail the various colours/animals/symbols that can be found on Coat of Arms. They then have to think of their own and answer questions. Also included is a blank shield where students can design their own Coat of Arms with a motto (we used the tables for this, e.g. 'Honesty. Strength. Loyalty.'

A full week/two weeks of resources for teaching the impact of war on migration to Britain to Year 9 (could also be adapted for a more-able Year 8 class, if pursuing a three-year GCSE course). This is part of a wider ‘Empires and Migration’ topic and also includes an examination of the Windrush. Included is a lesson pack covering this aspect of a scaffolded ‘Empires and Migration’ topic (brought down from GCSE - other lesson packs available on my shop!) Each lesson pack includes a PowerPoint (with integrated videos, worksheet screenshots and activities), individual worksheets and contemporary sources (where required) These resources were originally designed for paperless teaching on OneNote; however, it will work perfectly for exercise book teaching (simply replace ‘on OneNote’ with ‘in your exercise books’ on the slides). The Oxford and Hodder ‘Empires and Migration’ textbooks are needed to teach some aspects of this range of resources! (However, these are not widely used and activities could easily be adapted).

30 mark (35 minute) test on rivers, flooding and the water cycle for Year 7. This was based on the content from the Geog.1 text books; however, it is suitable for any topic on rivers at KS3. Students have to label a diagram of the water cycle, define key terms, draw diagrams and produce longer responses on flood defences. This assessment should be accessible for lower ability students whilst the longer responses will stretch G&T pupils. There is no mark scheme with this assessment; however, it is relatively straight forward to put one together based on the content that has been covered in your class. I am aware that some content may have been missed out due to time restrictions, so this test is easily modified.

A 60+ page booklet with detailed teacher notes relating to the Edexcel A Level unit: Germany, 1871-1990. Please note that (as many schools will be doing), the first Depth topic (Germany 1871-1914) will be covered by another teacher for coursework, therefore this resource only covers the period from c.1914-1990. These notes have been taken from a variety of textbooks and history books; they are the perfect aid for teaching this unit or could be used to supplement existing knowledge. The knowledge and content here can be easily adapted to suit other exam boards.

'Historical Heights' History Display

The display consists of several heads of historical figures in a line across the board; however, each head is positioned at the actual height they would have stood (5ft 5in, 6ft 2in etc.) Students love walking past and measuring themselves against Hitler, Queen Victoria etc. Included are several Historical heads, the names/heights, titles and a key for the side of the display. All that is needed are coloured strips that run vertically from the bottom of the display to the relevant head (see link). I used the coloured border rolls for these! Enjoy!

Five Powerpoint presentations introducing the study of witchcraft for A Level students. I used these as part of the AQA Historical Enquiry module (hence the date range, as it is roughly 100 years between two Acts). I now intend to use these for the new OCR Popular Culture and the Witchcraze unit to introduce some of the key topics. These presentations are designed to be a starting point for anybody wishing to study the early modern witch craze. Due to the breadth of the topic, there is inevitably going to be more information that can be added to these. Please note that these are just basic introductions to the topic and should be supplemented with other resources.
