I have a wealth of resources that are aimed primarily at KS4 and KS5; however, there are some useful KS3 tasks that have been uploaded this year. Topics at KS5 include: Russia and its Rulers, 1855-1941; Later Tudors, 1547-1603; Popular Culture and the Witchcraze of the 16th and 17th Centuries; Italian Unification, 1830-1870; and Germany, 1890-1990. As well as History, I also have a few resources relating to Geography and ICT that some users may find helpful.

Tudors, English Reformation and Spanish Armada KS3 Knowledge Test

(0)
Based around two units from a Year 8 SOW focusing on the 16th and 17th centuries (this can be found in my shop). Students are given a range of 1 mark knowledge questions on dates/names/events/definitions associated with the Tudors, English Reformation and the Spanish Armada. This form of assessment would be in addition to knowledge and source essays to practise the skills required for GCSE. Also included is a sheet with answers to all of the questions. The test is 35 questions long (35 marks).
ICT GCSE/iGCSE Unit 2 - Input and Output Devices

ICT GCSE/iGCSE Unit 2 - Input and Output Devices

(0)
A cut and stick activity for GCSE pupils; however, it is simple enough for KS3 computing. Students have to sort the tiles into input and output devices (or both) and stick them on to the relevant side of the diagram (blow up to A3). I would then encourage students to think of some more devices and write those in on the relevant side. Students could also write a basic description of the devices that they are unfamiliar with, which would help them with their revision.
Word Processing Task

Word Processing Task

(0)
A basic word processing task for students who are being introduced to Microsoft Word or for those taking national qualifications that require typing accuracy. Students have to write out a passage of text before formatting it using a set of instructions. Students can be extended by encouraging them to write formatting instructions for their partner or for the rest of the class.

Restoration England: What was the impact of the plague?

(0)
This resource is relevant to the new AQA GCSE specification on Restoration England, 1660-1685; however, it could be adapted for KS3 or A Level. Using a map of the spread of the plague (WikiCommons), students will need to explain its impact. Teachers are encouraged to supply students with further information on the various boroughs of London (e.g. the worst hit locations were also the locations where the lower classes lived, and vice versa). Students should be making the link between housing/wealth and infection. This would be a useful resource as part of a much wider topic on the plague, including its causes and treatment.
Restoration England: Timeline Revision Dominoes

Restoration England: Timeline Revision Dominoes

(0)
A set of 22 revision dominoes for the new AQA GCSE unit: Restoration England, 1660-1685. This is really useful as a starter activity as students move closer to the exam (or at the end of the unit) - hand one domino to each pupil and have them read out the date, the pupil with the corresponding event reads this out and then reads out their date. This should start a chain reaction around the room. My class always want to beat their time! There are perhaps more events and dates that can be added; however, this is a useful starting point.
Restoration England: The Third Dutch War

Restoration England: The Third Dutch War

(0)
Summary handout detailing the causes, events and results of the Third Dutch War. This is one of the tricky topics within the new AQA GCSE unit, Restoration England: 1660-1685. This one-sided handout will benefit those students who find the text book difficult to understand and it would be a great resource to have handy for revision.

AQA GCSE History - Britain: Health and the People - Penicillin

(0)
These resources relate to the AQA GCSE History unit, Britain: Health and the People. Many of the tasks require the blue textbook from Hodder that accompanies the course. However, they can be adapted to suit other KS4 (or even KS3) topics on penicillin. Included is a PowerPoint presentation on Fleming’s discovery, along with suitable questions to be completed in class. The presentation ends with a primary source (available at WikiCommons) that I have adapted to suit the utility question found in Q1 of the GCSE exam.
Ecosystems test

Ecosystems test

(0)
An end of topic test on Ecosystems. Designed to coincide with the Geog.1 unit, however I'm confident that it can be easily tweaked to suit any unit on ecosystems. Included are questions on biomes (rainforest and savanna in particular), food chains and climate graphs. Please rate and comment, as all feedback is appreciated.

Restoration England: Mock Exams

Restoration England: Mock Exams

(0)
This resource is intended for use with the new AQA GCSE unit: Restoration England, 1660-1685. Included are two sample mock exams that I have put together. I have not included questions on the Historical Site as this will change with each year; however, I have created two interpretation questions on the Fire and Plague that fit the model used by AQA. These mock exams can be used after one Half Term's worth of work. There is no coverage of Wars, Trade or Restoration Culture - these will need to be assessed towards the end of the course.
iGCSE CIE ICT Unit 5 Assessment - ICT and Employment
PaulMidPaulMid

iGCSE CIE ICT Unit 5 Assessment - ICT and Employment

(0)
A short 20-mark assessment for the CIE iGCSE ICT specification. All questions focus on Unit 5, ICT and Employment and have been included on past CIE papers (to which the questions are credited). This would be a perfect resource for an end of unit assessment to test students' knowledge; it could also be used for revision in the lead up to the exam. Mark schemes for the questions can be found on the CIE website; however, all of the questions are straight forward enough to be marked by a knowledgeable teacher.
PowerPoint CLAiT - Checklist of Skills

PowerPoint CLAiT - Checklist of Skills

(0)
A checklist of skills for the OCR CLAiT qualification (Unit 5 - Creating an e-Presentation). Students have to read through each skill and tick whether they can complete it or not. They can use the notes section to write tips to themselves or can draw the relevant buttons that need to be clicked on to complete each task.
KS2/3 File Management Task
PaulMidPaulMid

KS2/3 File Management Task

(0)
A basic file management task for KS2/KS3. Students have to follow a set of instructions to create/rename/delete folders. They can then be extended by encouraging them to copy/move folders around. These skills are essential in the first few weeks of term so that students keep their work areas tidy. The resource will need to be edited slightly to instruct students to create the folders in their relevant work areas.
Enlightenment Discoveries: Science and Medicine Timeline Task

Enlightenment Discoveries: Science and Medicine Timeline Task

(0)
This is a simple worksheet for use within KS3 topics covering science, medicine or the Age of Enlightenment. Students are given a list of 18th Century scientific/medical discoveries and must answer 4 questions based on the information that they are given. This would be useful as a starter activity for the topic or as a piece of homework; an extension task could be to have students research a particular discovery or find other 18th Century discoveries.

Included is an activity, based on the content from the textbook, on industrial diseases of the 19th and 20th centuries. Students are required to complete the worksheet and answer the questions. This worksheet is intended to supplement wider work on medicine and public health during the Industrial Revolution.

GCSE/iGCSE Interfaces worksheet
PaulMidPaulMid

GCSE/iGCSE Interfaces worksheet

(0)
A basic worksheet with the key interfaces in a table. Students have to define an interface and then fill in the table with the advantages/disadvantages/description of each type of interface. This worksheet could then be used as a revision aid as students move closer to the exam. This worksheet was designed for the CIE iGCSE ICT specification; however, it would be appropriate for other exam boards that feature a topic on interfaces.
