The game depends on whether they land on a friend or foe of Odysseus (based on what happens in the story.) Students may have a discussion before the game begins to decide whether each character is a friend or a foe to Odysseus, demonstrating their reasoning with evidence from the text.

Scorecards are varied and pictures placed at random. A fun group revision activity for students. A student shuffles, selects a card and calls out the name on the card. Students then have to mark off or place a counter over the picture (if they have it) on their scorecard. The first group to mark off at least two full columns or rows wins. (This can be adjusted to suit.) As an extension activity students then complete the theme worksheet for each character / symbol in one of the rows they have marked off. Example is included on the first sheet of the PDF file.
