I am an experienced English teacher of both Literature and Language, and also Classical Studies at High School level. You will find text-based resources for novels, poetry, plays and film study in my shop for Years 7 - 13. The resources are generic to the text so are suitable for any curriculum. I am also a passionate believer in effective literacy learning hence the emphasis on phonics resources in my shop.

DIY phonic fans. The first 4 pages contains the initial 23 sounds students learn. The following 26 sounds are the more complex 26 consonant digraphs and graphemes. A split pin is used to make the fans (6-8 in a group) at the bottom of the ice cream cone. The fans can be used to ask students to identify sounds as they hear them from an audio recording or being read to in class. This activity is a brilliant way to help students develop phonological awareness.

5 posters of different scenes. A neat way for students to practice finding and listing nouns as seen in the poster. This is an ideal group activity (group competitions can be created adding some excitement to the activity) where students have to find the nouns in each picture. You can introduce a time challenge or first group to find 15 nouns etc. For the 3 posters where activities are being shown , the same can be done for verbs. Great for developing parts of speech understanding.

10 card sets (6 cards in each). The sets are colour coded so the students know which numbers they have to sequence. Some numbers are written numerically and some are written using words. Students are to place the numbers in sequential order demonstrating they can read both the numbers and words. This is a neat little activity to boost literacy skills.
