GCSE Geography Issue Evaluation 2023 Cayman Islands - Paper 3 (AQA) (Pre-Release)
This lesson is the introduction to the Paper 3 Pre-Release section for 2023. It introduces the first 3 pages of the booklet, discussing what tourism is, the benefits of tourism including job opportunities and the positive multiplier effect it creates.
Then an evaluation into which countries rely on tourism the most, along with a discussion on the compound line graph and how to read it, then the growth of cruise tourism in the Caribbean.
Task 1: Knowledge Retention - Answer questions students have previously learnt.
Task 2: Describe how tourism creates jobs and what knock on effects these have.
Task 3: Describe the trends that are present in the graph

Christchurch Earthquake-2011 Case Study - (KS4 - Key Stage 4) (GCSE)
A fully resourced and up to date lesson on the 2010 Christchurch earthquake, this lesson establishes what an earthquake is. Where Christchurch is located globally and background on what happened during the earthquake, and the effects including, social, economic and environmental effects. Then students finish off by looking at the long-term and short-term effects of the quake.

Climate of the UK - KS3 (Key Stage 3)
Students will be able to describe where the UK is located globally using a variety of descriptors such as; longitude and latitude, recapping of the continents and surrounding seas and oceans. Student should also be able to describe the countries that make up the UK, British Isles and GB. Finally students will learn the difference between weather and climate and then asked to describe the climate of the UK in Winter and Summer.

Students will be able to describe the main reasons why countries decide to join the EU initially, this includes free movement and the single market. Then students will identify the benefits and costs of membership. Then Brexit will be introduced to students, explaining what it is, the voting % and main figures along with a quick video about the positives and negative of the EU. Finally students identify the positives and negatives of the EU and then work on formulating a debate either for or against staying in the EU.

The Niger Delta - KS3 (Key Stage 3)
Students will be able to locate the Niger Delta using compass directions and also lines of latitude and longitude. Student will then be reminded of the key geographical terms such as confluence, tributaries and watershed. Then students will be asked to recap the water cycle and its key features. Finally students will identify what a delta is along with it key features and how it forms, including using transportation and deposition to explain how.

Physical Features of South America
For KS3 geography, this bundle is great for Year 8 in their first term back at school. This helps to get students familiar again with physical geographical concepts of rivers, coasts, climate. This bundle also contains a tutorial on GIS mapping for students to have a go mapping South America to see its physical features.

Grid Referencing in Brazil - KS3 (Key Stage 3)
Students to start by recapping their learning of core knowledge of the physical features of South America with 5 quick questions.
Students are then introduced what OS maps are and why we need them, they will then begin to identify symbols that are commonly used in OS maps. The students get shown how to do 4 figure grid references using different places in Brazil, with increasing difficulty. Then students are shown how to do this in 6 figure grid reference.

Intro to Changing Economic World - Home Learning - (KS4 - Key Stage 4) (GCSE)
