Photographs of common buildings etc. for a visit around the local area. I'm going to tell my class we're play bingo they must tick off what they see. This wiill prompt discusson when we we return to school about our area and enable us to make comparisons with other areas. Just a time saver really ....

I asked my class to label a picture from the story (the one with the vines etc.). These are the words they came up with to describe the scene. I have added little pictures from the story. You could either use it as it is or type your own class' ideas into the labels. This formed part of our work on stories with a fantasy setting and improving sentences through use of colorful words.

Simple writing frame for own version of a verse of the popular Julia Donaldson story. I asked my class to choose an animal from a bag (different to the ones in the book). They then filled in the writing frame and performed their verses.

As above - this could easily be adapted for lower attainers by blanking out the text boxes so they can record with pictures. Made for Fairy Stories could be used for other narrative.
