Electron arrangement
Balancing equations
Fractional distillation
as well as a revision sheet taken from another TES resource.
GCSE AQA Chemistry - C4.4, C4.5 AND C4.6 Atom aconomy, percentage yield and concentration
This one powerpoint covers all three topics, including practicals, example calculations and tasks.
Lesson made for GCSE AQA Chemistry C3.2 on atoms into ions. Including a variety of different tasks which works as a very effective lesson on a complex topic.
Students will:
State the particles involved in ionic and covalent bonding.
Describe, with an example, how a Group 1 metal atom becomes a positive ion.
Explain how electron transfer allows ionic bonding to occur in the compound formed when a Group 1 metal reacts with a Group 7 non-metal.
Full lesson where students recap what general animal and plant cells look like. They then move around the classroom looking at the 'specialised cell gallery' and fill in a table drawing each cell and writing down its adaptation. Lesson ends with 'cell bingo'.
Would work with KS3 or KS4. Would also make a good revision lesson.
Simple lesson where students make their own Copper Sulphate crystals. Can be used alongside AQA GCSE Chemistry C4 'SALTS FROM METALS' or as a general crystallisation practical for C1.
