BTEC Nationals: Unit 4: Practice Run Through

(4)
BTEC Nationals, Level 3, Health and Social Care: Unit 4 Controlled Assessment. Please leave a review! You will need to log onto Pearson and download the Jan 2020 release material to support this download. The first powerpoint supports students in how to do their research and set up their notes. I have put a small time frame in there for my classes. This is a practice run through so students have less time than the actual controlled assessment. There is then a feedback powerpoint which uses the examiners report to provide sample answers that show 2 nearly perfect answers and 2 answers that I then intend on live writing/modelling based on their responses from their practice (hoping their responses are good enough to use as future model answers!) Please leave feedback as this took me a very long time to put together!

Lesson 9 finishes with basic contraception. As this unit is aimed at Year 7 this lesson is very light and factual regarding what contraception is used for and to help them consider, in the future, with method is right for them. There is a strong emphasis on the use of condoms, regardless of the other methods.

BTEC Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 1 Human Lifespan Development PSA. I have typed the criteria into a document, and added a grid/space for the scores with space for a school logo/badge. We will use this document to highlight where students have met the criteria, and give this back to the students during a resubmission. It may save you some time, if your school wants you to have personalised documents. Bundled resources for Component 1 can be found here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12898517

A new unit of work using the PSHE association mapping structure for the new 2020 Relationship, Sex and Health Education area. This unit is aimed at Year 7. But suitable for any KS3 group. Lesson 4 is looking at the media and body image. We look at how the ideal body type has evolved since the start of time, considering why these ideals change and why do we subscribe to them. The lesson then concentrates on the October 2018 cover of Cosmopolitan magazine in which they put Tess Holliday on the front (5foot 3 and 300lbs), there is a video from Good Morning Britain (Piers Morgan arguing with Cosmo editor) and students then complete and extended piece of writing on this topic area.
