Boxing Day is a fun day of shopping, sports, and gift giving. Also, it is St. Stephen’s Day! This word search puzzle comes with a hidden message. The hidden message is within the first 3 lines. Students scan the first three lines, and look for fragmented words which are recognizable. They put them together for the message! Have fun! An answer key is provided. This is a crossover science activity connected with Chemistry, Earth Science and the subsciences of Geology and Metallurgy. Students research properties of these 4 expensive popular metals, and chart them. They can utilize the Periodic Table for some of the data, and the internet or science textbooks for the rest of the chart. These precious metals are commodities in the jewelry making industry, as well.
