2 Student-friendly NEA Edexcel Geography A Level mark schemes assessment criteria

2 Resources
This bundle comprises of two different mark schemes aimed at students being able to understand the demands of the assessment criteria: The first one translates the descriptors for the top level marks for each of the 4 sections, providing prompts and questions for students to ensure they have covered the section to meet the top level. It also has a suggested layout and top tips for each of the 4 sections. The second one is a translation of the entire mark scheme/assessment criteria, bulletpoint by bulletpoint and is formatted to look like the Edexcel version. Students could use this to attempt to mark their own or an exemplar to better help them understand the demands for each level descriptor. These two mark schemes can also be bought separately too: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12854135 https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-13135719 Thank you for looking.

Edexcel NEA Geography A Level student friendly mark scheme FULL, no prompts

This student-friendly mark scheme/assessment criteria shows all descriptions in easier to understand language. It is formatted the same as the original Edexcel assessment criteria for Geography NEA at A Level. This is different to the other resource I have for sale which only translates the top level of criteria and then includes prompts for students to answer. This can be found here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12854135 Both can be bought as a bundle: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-13135804

Please find step-by-step guides and templates for 4 main command words for Geography A Level: Explain Analyse Evaluate Assess Insert the powerpoint slides into your lessons when you introduce a specific exam question (change the question obviously!) and give out of a copy of the template for students to fill in. Gradually remove this scaffold over time. I made this based on examboard advice and literature.

Edexcel NEA Geography A Level student friendly mark scheme

(1)
This document is a ‘translation’ of the Edexcel mark sheet for the NEA in Geography. In the first column is the top tier criteria for each section as it is on the official mark sheet. The middle column contains in student speak what should be included based on Edexcel training/webinars I have attended. In the last column is a checklist for each section and some top tips - again, this is based on training I have been on. I’m sure it’s not perfect but I worked my little socks off to make it. You can now also buy a full copy of the whole mark scheme/assessment criteria which has a translation bulletpoint by bulletpoint: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-13135719 Or a discounted bundle with both mark schemes in: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-13135804 Thanks for looking.

TECTONICS EQ1 Lesson 3 Plate Boundaries Edexcel A Level Geography

This is the third lesson from Enquiry Question 1 of the Tectonics Unit. This lesson combs through key terminology whilst looking at the different types of plate boundary. Students review their understanding of keywords at the start and end. You may wish to use GeoActive Online 340 The Bam Earthquake, Iran 2003 factsheet and also Geofile Online Sept 2006 526 Hot Spots in Plate Tectonics - Evolution of a Theory to accompany this lesson. You can often download these for free online. Thanks for looking.

TECTONICS EQ1 Lesson 1 Distribution of hazards Edexcel A Level Geography

This is the first lesson from Enquiry Question 1 of the Tectonics Unit. This lesson revises the placing of plate boundaries and introduces students to some main case studies which will be followed up in subsequent lessons. Students will produce an annotated map. Thanks for looking. (There is an alternative more interactive Lesson 1 available but I had to change the task to be more covid friendly in the classroom.)

AQA GCSE Geography Pre-release mock EXAM PAPER Tropical Rainforests with markscheme Issue Evaluation

Please find a mock exam paper for Paper 3 (just Section A) to go with this year’s pre-release booklet. I have based the format on last year’s paper. There is also a mark scheme attached to help you with your preparation. The resource is fully there but I’ve had to insert some blank pages in to the document to prevent people from copying and pasting off the preview on here. Obviously delete the blank pages when printing! I hope you and your students will find it useful and thank you for looking.

Exam Answer Writing Frame Template Geography GCSE Assess, Evaluate, Explain 6- and 9-marks

4 Resources
This bundle contains 4 templates: 9 mark Assess 9 mark Evaluate 6 mark Assess 6 mark Explain This should be printed out on A3, folded in half to make an A4 booklet, with each page on one side. The format of how this works: pg1 - Walkthrough - I’ve really tried to take a step-by-step guide (and for your weakest students they should only ever use this perhaps?) pg2 - Template - This is where it’s more of a compartmentalised layout so they visualise the answer. I suggest when they have mastered the Walkthrough version, that they go straight to the Template Version. pg3 - Exam Answer - so how they would see it in the exam pg4 - Improved answer - I’ve put on a levels table in student speak and hen you’ve marked it, they have to find evidence of what you mean and fill in last column. Then there is space for them to make improvements to ONE section of their answer.

6 mark exam answer template writing frame EXPLAIN AQA Geography GCSE

This is a writing frame/template for a 6-mark Explain question for AQA GCSE Geography. I am trialling this with my GCSE students. It is probably not perfect but I’ve tried to break it down as much as possible for students struggling with longer answers and higher-order command words. This should be printed out on A3, folded in half to make an A4 booklet, with each page on one side. The format of how this works: pg1 - Walkthrough - I’ve really tried to take a step-by-step guide by using an example with different answers. It points out what’s good and what to improve on. pg2 - Template - This is where it’s more of a compartmentalised layout. Hopefully they can use this to visually see how their answer will look. pg3 - Exam Answer - so how they would see it in the exam pg4 - Improved answer - I’ve put on a levels table in student speak and hen you’ve marked it, they have to find evidence of what you mean and fill in last column. Then there is space for them to make improvements to ONE section of their answer. Thanks for looking and hope you found this useful to you and your students. Good luck with your results! I also have writing frames/templates for 9-mark Assess and Evaluate and 6-mark Assess. These also come as a bundle.
