Children will learn the model text and work towards writing their own version of the story where a jungle ranger gets his lunch stolen by a cheeky jungle animal of their choice. A teacher written model text used for myths in year 5. The story is based on the curse of Tutankhamun hitting London when a young John Carter (son of Howard Carter) brings the mummy and other artifacts to be displayed in a London museum. I got some really great stories from this. We studied the myth of the original curse first before the children wrote their own ‘modern myth’ based on my model.
