Help your students Create an Invention with this 8.5" x 14" legal-sized activity sheet! It walks your students through the Engineering Design Process step-by-step.
Included in this packet:
1. Design an Invention Poster Activity Sheet (8.5" x 14")
2. Sharing Page: Have your students take a picture of their invention and write a synopsis on this page. Makes a great Bulletin Board! (8.5" x 11")
3. Reflection Page: Includes questions so that students can reflect on their work. (8.5" x 11")
I have used this poster with groups of fourth grade students in the Media Center to encourage them to invent something with the materials available in our Makerspace Center. It took them six weeks to plan and make their inventions. Afterwards, each class voted for the top inventions and we had the best of the best set up in the Media Center for classes to come see.
This story planning sheet encourages students to write and/or draw the beginning, middle and end of their story.
I have used this successfully with K-4th grade students. Students with special needs are able to draw their ideas while I circulate. They can then dictate their sentence when I sit with them.
You are purchasing 2 figurative language games ready to print.
These are a fun way to reinforce the literary device concepts and vocabulary! Perfect for a Center activity since it is self-checking!
Game #1: simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole
Game #2: puns, alliteration, idiom, onomatopoeia
For each game, there are 8 game cards for each concept, 32 total. Each card has a color graphic on it that matches a box on the Answer Board. After a student states which literary device is being used, he places it on the Answer Board on top of the matching clip art. If the answer was correct, he gets to color in a square on the reproducible Game Board. Play goes back and forth until one student gets 4 In a Row colored.
It's easy to do variations of the game just like BINGO. Players can agree that they will get 5 in a row, or 4 in the shape of a stamp to win.
You will want to print these games ahead of time as a bit of preparation is needed. You will have to cut out the game cards and glue the 3 page answer board together.
You can photocopy the game board or mount it on construction paper and laminate it to use with vis a vis markers over and over again.
15 Pets hidden in this puzzle. Words are horizontal and vertical only.
Comes in Full Color for those that like to laminate and reuse.
Also in B&W reproducible for coloring. Includes Answer Key.
