A lesson designed to give an overview of India. Sheet needs printing in A3. This is best done at the end of the development unit due to coverage of many key areas (Rostows, Industry etc). Pupils use the information in each section to outline the key learning for each section. I allowed students to just get on with the parts that they could complete & then topped up their learning as I walked around. This is specifically designed fir the 1-9 OCR A spec, but could be easily adapted as a case study for any exam board.

A lesson on the causes, effects & responses to flooding. This uses the River Ouse in York, but could easily be adapted for any river. Aimed at all year groups and all specifications.

An entire lesson relating to the causes, effects & responses to tectonic activity in Iceland. Pupils can present their understanding in any form that they want, but it works well as a mindmap, storyboard or poster. I have done it as a roleplay with ks3, which worked well. All the information needed is provided on the information sheet. Understanding is tested using the T&F test.

A great lesson that looks at the HDI (Human Development Index). Promotes independent learning. Designed for the new 1-9 gcse specifications.

A super lesson that explores the human causes of climate change. Students use the information sheet (no need for books) to create a piece of poetry. They complete a rough piece of work first. I would recommend printing the information sheet in colour & in A3 & laminating it, to be used again. Designed to meet the needs of all ranges of pupils. Marking sheets have been included to save valuable time. Just print off & cut up. Links well to much of the new 1-9 specification and was used as part of the KS3 SOW.

I would recommend printing the information sheet in colour & in A3 & laminating it, to be used again. The cartoon strip is best in A3 too. There is a basis test sheet, but it’s not really needed. Links well to much of the new 1-9 specification and was used as part of the KS3 SOW.

A great lesson on the effects of tourism in glacial areas. I used this to great effect for both observation and interview lessons. It includes all of the resources that you need and covers a huge amount of content related to AQA, OCR & edexcel 1-9 specifications.

A test used to deliver a walking talking exam to gcse geography pupils. Each pupil had a copy and made annotations. The hall was booked and classes combined together. I then talked through each question and outlined exactly how to answer it. a visualiser was used too. Was used to cover geographiocal skills, fieldwork and statistics. Planned for OCR geography 1-9, but content and coverage is relevant to all current 1-9 specifications.
