A variety of resources that can and have effectively been used by all faculty areas to help set cover and revision lessons. These are all fairly simple activities. Resources for a very simple (yet effective) lesson to leave for cover work. All instructions are incorporated into the PowerPoint. I have added one example on the sheet, but you may want to remove this. The worksheet can be printed on A3 or 4.

A long list of varied questions that I have been asked and used over my 15 years as a teacher and in to leadership. A resource that includes all of the key information related to the energy, population, resources and industry in India. I had my pupils create a mindmap about each key heading. Promotes independent work and allows the teacher to support students as they work. I printed this on A3 & in colour & laminated them. This way they can be kept & used for many years.

It also includes a key word comprehension box that enables literacy to be embedded into the activity. Dictionaries can be used to explain the key terminology.

A great end of year test that covers a variety of areas within the units of coasts and rivers.

A sheet that enables pupils of all abilities and ages to create a population pyramid graph. It comprises of 2 bar graphs that are cut & stuck to create a pyramid.

A statistics lesson created for students in geography that covers a range of statistical ideas. (range, averages, quartile range, ratio, proportion & frequency etc).

All the resources needed to deliver content on the impacts of modifying the landscape for food.

A super lesson that explores the ways to present, analyse & explain data. I got students to create a traffic tally on a local road, whilst keeping then in the school grounds. I then did a comparison on the city of Delhi (found a clip on youtube). Students then created a bar graph & then moved on to completing a more complex data presentation. Links well to much of the new 1-9 specification and was used as part of the KS3 SOW.

A sheet designed to be used by pupils after a piece of workwork. It allows students to think about the processes that they undertook and how & why their practice could/should be improved in the future. It ties well in to metacognitive thinking in that it allows learners to address the entire learning experience and not simply knowledge. This should help promote even more effective learners at a departmental & whole school level.
