A power point and student worksheet on the impacts of climate change in the future. The lesson is interactive and gets the class to suggest what their area will be like in 2050, it would fit in well following on from a climate change topic.

Year 7 geography. These resources will take up 2- 3 lessons and offer a range of differentiation. They encourage group research and presentation and over 2-3 hours are designed to develop skills as well as build knowledge about the diversity of the UK. Includes all the supplementary resources that are needed to deliver the learning planned and outlined on the slides. I assigned students into groups of 3-4 using Kagan principles. I was observed by my HOD and a lead inspector on this lesson and got an outstanding!

A mini-unit on Africa that can work for 4-5 lessons with tasks and group activities.

KS3 geography. A mixture of information and activities; a clip, true/false quiz finishing with students applying their learning by creating an India page.

KS3 geography. Begins with the odd one out task and discuss the answer. Next cover learning objectives, move onto the images and facts. Students then watch the clips and use the attached thinking hats resource to write about mumbai . The build on key words using the facts slides (these can be printed out). Finally there is a mumbai postcard activity to apply knowledge which can be carried over or completed for homework.

Share the facts with students, main activity is for students to use the worksheet to write about what the different people say about India’s development. Includes an extension activity where students apply knowledge about what India will be like in future.

KS3 geography. This lesson is based on an intelligent graffiti task where students watch Kevin McCloud staying in the Dharavi slum. There are examples of WAGOLL for the main task and the lesson then develop into a structured assessment with the success criteria explained. It also includes some printable resources to be provided for use as research on the assessment tasks.

KS3 geography. Includes a clip, a printable mind map with categories for students to build notes, printable resources of the different landscapes. Can be used as a carousel activity or paired task. A heads and tails matching task to allow students to apply understanding of the different landscapes and who/why people live there. Also has an extension task that could be adapted as a homework.

These resources are for a double lesson. It is suitable for Y9 students considering opting for GCSE geography. It includes learning outcomes and stretch and challenge tasks. There are clips about the problems of piracy and activities that encourage geographical thinking, as well as opportunities to develop map skills and ask geographical questions.

Geography year 8. lesson 2 of the amazing places unit. Contains clips and visuals about Svalbard. Students make notes and discuss/locate. It finishes with a mini assessment to apply learning.

Geography Year 8 students. Amazing world places. This lesson introduces a cluster of lessons which are numbered and should be taught as one unit over a half term. This introduction lesson shares amazing places and their types of geography a blank world map as an activity to get students locating some famous amazing places. There is an extended writing task where students describe and explain their amazing place.

Ideally make this into a booklet to complement lesson 3 all about Svalbard,

Lesson 3 from the amazing places unit. This combines the northern lights and Slinks to Svalbard. It contains facts, links to clips and extended writing activities to apply understanding of the phenomenon.

New york! This is lesson 6 in the unit. It has facts and information about new york, links to famous songs and a task about re-branding the big apple logo.

lesson 7 of the unit on amazing places. Locates Dubai, explains using visuals what it was like in the past. Clips show the tourist attractions. Students design hotel.

Final lesson of the amazing places unit. This locates the Maldives and focuses on tourism and the ecology of the islands and the problems of development.

KS3 Geography - a topical, tropical storm! A power point format with 2 lessons about hurricanes and the current/recent one in the Bahamas/ North America. There are a variety of learning activities and tasks. Maps. Clips and information about Hurricane Dorian and the causes of tropical storms.

A complete set of resources including a power point and set of student hand outs and worksheets to investigate what they know about carbon footprint and how they can work out theirs. This lesson could link to climate change and develops awareness of what we can all do. There are 5 different learning activities included, identifying and categorising key words in the starter, a whole class opinion line (with symbols to print out for this), an activity where students calculate their individual carbon footprint, a creative thinking task where students are given 15 energy saving tips hand out and have to illustrate them but using a limited number of words. Their is a peer assessment task and the review task encourages students to write a pledge about how they can reduce their carbon footprint which links back to the starter. Also the lesson can be easily differentiated and can fit with KS3 topics.
