This activity is a great resource to use for distance learning and in the classroom. It provides students with three opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge of the American Civil War. This differentiated product is designed to reach students of different abilities and strengths and can be used as a classroom project or assessment. The task asked of students are challenging and require students to use the knowledge they have gained about the American Civil War. The activities that students may choose to complete are:
Activity 1: This activity is a visual activity in which students watch two short (10 minutes) video clips about the Civil War. These video clips are available on YouTube and the links are provided. After watching the two clips, students will create a PowerPoint/Google Slides Presentation about the Civil War. Criteria for the presentation is included as well.
Activity 2: This activity is writing based. Students are presented with Civil War topics and then they must write a 5 paragraph essay about one of the topics. Students must use at least two sources.
Activity 3: The final activity used primary sources and a link to a great variety of primary sources is provided. In this activity, students are given a variety of options to use the information in the primary sources to create their own product. Some of these options include newspaper front page, journal, letter, propaganda, or political cartoon.

n this activity, students are tasked with creating their own map of a fictional or real location. This is a highly flexible activity that can be made to work in classrooms in many grade levels. The purpose of the activity is to teach geography, map reading, and critical thinking skills to students.
Included with this product are two pages. The first, a directions and hints page to inform students of their task. The maps themselves will be completed using a separate document/paper. The second page of the resource includes three response questions (including a chart) about the creation process and the thoughts behind their creation.
The activity and the response questions encourage critical thinking, collaboration (if a group activity), and creativity. The response questions and finished product will provide assessment data as well.

This product includes three steps/activities that students will complete to learn about the road to the American Revolution. The resource includes a graphic organizer categorizing the actions of the British before the American Revolution and also the reactions of the American colonists in regards to the Sugar Act, the Stamp Act, the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, and the Intolerable Acts.
The second page includes a cause and effect activity about the Intolerable Acts. Also included within the document are response questions to assess student knowledge and learning. This is a perfect activity to complete in class with students or to assign for homework.

This resource tasks students with exploring the United States Census and analyzing the results and implications from that activity. The product is a two page worksheet that includes three separate tasks/activities. They are:
Students will read an article about the winners and losers of the 2010 census. The article includes information on winners and losers of the census. Students must analyze this information to make informed inferences and analyze how the information presented will affect the United States and also where they live. A small chart the students will complete is also included in this section.
Next, the document includes a graphic organizer that students will complete that has them analyze the effect of the census on their home state.
Finally, students must answer extended response questions about the 2010 census and also the upcoming 2020 census. Questions include analyzing the effect of the census on the government, citizens, and other organization. Students must also use their knowledge of the previous (2010) census to understand the ramifications of the 2020 census.
