It starts by introducing the key terms needed to describe the solar system including the difference between planet and dwarf planets and asteroids and comets. It then goes on to cover the various methods for measuring distances in space including light years and parsecs. It opens by considering a simple alternator as a means of generating electricity. It then goes on to discuss transformers and the transformer equation including how to derive the transformer equation from Faraday’s law and the power equation.
