A complete lesson covering section 6.2.5c of the OCR specification - testing for functional groups and PAG7.3 The lesson starts with reminders of the tests for the main functional groups in the OCR specification. Each one is set out with the same structure- first giving an opportunity for recall before revealing the answer. The lesson then introduces PAG7.3 (you will need to download the full details off the OCR interchange). After the practical there are a series of activities allowing students to apply what they have learned about the tests. These can be done individually or as a class. I am to actively reduce photocopying so all activities are in the PowerPoint (29 slides in total)

A complete lesson covering the structure and function of digestive enzymes from AQA Biology and Trilogy B2- Organisation. It starts with a retrieval starter covering content from B1 and earlier in B2 It then goes over enzymes, their digestive function and the lock and key mechanism. This is then recorded through an information hunt (sheet and questions included). Answers provided. The lesson then looks at human digestive enzymes with a summary table to complete. This is then re-caped trjough 9 quick questions There are then a series of exam questions to cover the content from earlier in the lesson. Answers included The final activity is an example 6 mark question with mark scheme All required resources are in the PPT or as separate files

The lesson starts with a retrieval starter covering a variety of topics form molecules 1-4 with answers It then recaps endo and exothermic reactions with examples including a video It then covers what is meant by a bond energy using a variety of examples. Students then work through some examples The lesson then moves onto calculating overall energy changes in reactions before going through some examples. The second lesson in OCR A level Biology topic 3.1.2 Animal transport covering objective c- structure and function of blood vessels. This is a complete lesson with a starter, a variety of student led activities and a differentiated summary activity at the end. The main activity is an information hunt where students complete a two page summary of the three main types of blood vessels using provided information sheets. However in these Covid-19 led times the PowerPoint has been set up to automatically move on and to loop round allowing it to be displayed at the front and students to use it to complete the sheet. In the main lesson PowerPoint all ansewrs are provided. Some slides have additional information on them to support delivery / understanding of the topics covered
