Fitness Testing

A range of fitness tests, including instructions and comparison information, for upper secondary aged students. Giving detailed descriptions on how to perform the tests and what, if any, equipment is needed, these sheets can be given to your students as an independent task, group work or peer-on-peer teaching tool. Use these as baselines for circuit training or as a part of a more comprehensive Health-related Fitness scheme of work. Complete with an editable record spreadsheet, so you can track your students progress.

Both theory exams and practical assessment proforma are included in this pack. The two exam papers are almost identical, however the differences show how easy it is to adjust them for your specific needs. The blank Practical Assessment proforma can be used to assess students' practical skills in two sports as well as an aspect of fitness, as a fun way of ending the year. I hope they are of some use. Enjoy!

Market Research - Battle of the Brands

(0)
A basic Business Studies lesson activity for the topic of Marketing. I used the Powerpoint activity to get them thinking about the differences between known-named brands and own-named brands. You can use the images that I’ve taken from Google to hand out as a discussion starter to see what differences in packaging students notice also. The questionnaire sheet (with 3 copies per page) was used for a blind taste-testing session where we compared Haribo sweets to local shop versions of the same sweets to see if students could distinguish between them… as well as seeing if they liked the popular ones of the cheaper alternatives! The results were very interesting! Enjoy!

The second file is a bank of comments that I have been using for the past decade in completing IEPs at the EBSD school I work in. These can be easily adapted to your needs. I hope it proves helpful.
KS3 Cricket Maths Worksheet

KS3 Cricket Maths Worksheet

(3)
A KS3 worksheet using Cricket as the focus (cross-curricular opportunity). Worksheet has information about the game so no prior knowledge is necessary. When I used this worksheet I began with a starter activity using enough dice for paired challenges. Each student would roll their die at the same time as their challenger. The person to add the two numbers together and give an answer got the point, or 'run'. They played first to 10 runs although you could use different cricket concepts to sort out timing of the starter. For example, 6 rolls only, or 2 innings of 6 rolls each etc... Enjoy!
