This resource is a non-fiction comprehension activity for year 2. It is all about Thanksgiving celebrations in America and covers the history of the holiday and current traditions. Perfect to use to teach children about the American version of harvest.
It includes 3 differentiated levels. Each booklet has four pages of pictures and short written extracts to read. There are 13 questions in the higher ability booklet, 12 questions in the middle ability and 10 questions in the lower ability. There are a range of ‘what,’ ‘when,’ ‘why,’ ‘where’ and ‘who’ questions, some multiple choice tick questions, true or false questions and some that require more detailed answers.
There are colour and black & white versions of the booklets and answers are included.

This resource is a 2 lesson unit on Harvest, suitable for using with key stage 1. There are details of activities and differentiation for each lesson.

This resource contains 5 comprehension activities suitable for using with year 1 or early year 2.
They each contain a short piece of text (about 5 sentences) with words that can be sounded out. There are three trickier words which have pictures to help children work out what they say.
The text is followed by 5 questions, containing 'what' 'who' and 'when' questions and some multiple choice questions. Answers are also included.

This resource is a scheme of work for a 7 week history unit aimed at Key Stage 2. The theme for the unit is women's rights, with a focus on Elizabeth Garrett-Anderson, the first female doctor and Emmeline Pankhurst, the suffragette.
The scheme includes an introduction, curriculum aims, a unit overview and 7 detailed lesson plans. Each plan has an objective, lesson introduction, main activity and plenary. There are also details about possible differentiation, questions for assessment and key vocabulary for each lesson. Also included are 3 PowerPoint presentations on women's history pre-20th century, Elizabeth Garrett-Anderson and Emmeline Pankhurst.
The unit could be used at any time in Key Stage 2 in order to cover the curriculum aim of studying a British theme post 1066.
