E-Safety BlockBusters

Ideal plenary to an E-Safety lesson, or an ice-breaker to a PSHE Internet Safety session. There is a sound track to the first slide too; save everything to one folder - if it doesn't work you may need to set it up! Macros enable the shapes to move, so make sure they are enabled when a warning appears. Hope you enjoy!

Business Ownership Revision

Learners cut out the three titles of ownership types from the right hand side. Around/below these titles they arrange the cut outs that appear on the left of the sheet. Excellent for revision after teaching attributes of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Updated with answers!

Inside a Computer - Define and label computer parts Computer Science

Ideally printed on A3, students write about each part of the computer shown in the boxes and label the parts they can see. Space for teacher feedback and a gap task/extension/homework task to find one more part of the computer and define/label it. I've used this with year 7, but equally would suit up to GCSE and as low as year 5/6. Enjoy!

Profit & Loss Account Worksheet GCSE Business Studies (EdExcel Applied mainly) (Version 1)

(11)
This activity gets students to complete a profit and loss account for the fictional, Barmy Burgers. Students must use all the data on the handout to complete the various activities. This is part of a differentiated task - there are three handouts which you might give to all students to complete in succession, or group students based on ability. If basing on ability, this is not the most challenging of the activities.

Spreadsheets Key Terms Starter

(11)
A good little starter to settle an ICT class quickly and to reinforce key terms relating to spreadsheets. Aids the spelling of key terms which is often over-looked in ICT (how many times do your pupils misspell columN?!).

Choosing a secure password - starter activity

(4)
A short PowerPoint presentation to be used as a quick starter activity in a Computing or PSHE lesson focusing on Internet security. Students are given some brief information about password security (choosing a secure password) before being asked to rank 5 passwords (most to least secure). A quick resource that may provide a good discussion when the answers students have given are revealed! Enjoy, your feedback is always valued!

Business Studies - Balance Sheets Profit & Loss Accounts Student Booklet

(7)
This is a four page student booklet that shows an example balance sheet and profit and loss account. Students should complete all speech bubbles noting what each area of the financial documents shows OR how they’re calculated. There’s a final question from GCSE Applied Business Studies, outlining the format a good answer would take. Enjoy!

Blank Timetable Template - can be edited electronically - 5 period day

Exactly what the title says! A blank, 5 period day, timetable template. Useful to give to students to copy up their weekly timetable or for teachers to display on the wall to show primary classes which lessons are scheduled for when. Uploaded as a Word document so it can be coloured/typed on to suit. There are two versions of the five period day to suit when you may have lunchtime. There's a six period day uploaded separately if that helps too! Enjoy!

Business Location - Choosing an appropriate location - Starter Task / Discussion

(7)
A nice little task when teaching Business Location. Print or display the drawn choices of possible locations. Students complete the handout by selecting an appropriate location (by letter) and giving their reasons for their choice. There's no answer sheet, but selections should be appropriate with sensible reasoning. This could then lead to a class discussion, a nice starter! Apologies for my drawings! I'm no artist... Enjoy

Display: Famous People in Business

Descriptions of 10 famous people in business. Great for a small display. I’ve cut the answers off mine - you could cut these out separately and dot around the display so learners just have to match them up - or perhaps cover the names up. PDF format as it’s unlikely you’ll have the font to match.

BBC Micro Bit - Rock Paper Scissors - Lesson PPT, Handout & Extension Challenge

(3)
Teacher PowerPoint and student handout to guide them through coding a rock, paper, scissors game using Block Editor on the Micro Bit website. The lesson includes two extension challenges. I start by playing rock, paper, scissors the old fashioned way, just so they get the idea of how the game works. Students then code it, add to the device and play the game themselves using their Micro:bit. Quite fun! Enjoy.
