This set of resources is ideal for a GCSE class in their first lesson of the “Natural Hazards” topic, but it can also be used as a revision aid for Year 11 students. Files included are: -A GCSE Geo. Lesson Plan. -A Natural Hazards PowerPoint outlining the basic concepts of the topic (with a divided bar chart task and GCSE exam style questions). -A “What are Natural Hazards?” knowledge organiser (a great revision aid with all of the lesson’s key facts in one place). -And a YouTube Video describing natural hazards. (Ive found this one to be quite useful for introducing the topic during my teaching experience, though it is an advert for a museum exhibition. Use at your own discretion).

Ideal for a Year 10 GCSE Geography class, or a Year 11 class revisiting case studies. Contains: PowerPoint on Haiti (context in terms of its LIC status & detail about the 2010 earthquake - including theory) with 2 embedded videos and a 9 mark question, Model Answer to the 9 mark question (word doc, 9/9 score), Homework worksheet to fill in on the Tohoku earthquake, Japan. Students should research this in their own time, as it’s part of the specification to learn about an earthquake in a HIC & and how its impacts and responses differ from those of economically weaker countries. ⠀ **IMPORTANT NOTE: Please ensure you have a recent version of PowerPoint, as older versions won’t show the correct font. ** eg) If the titles aren’t correct: https://ufonts.com/download/bahnschrift.html ’After you find a font that you would like to use with an Office application, you can download it and install it through the operating system that you are currently using on your computer. Because fonts work with the operating system, they are not downloaded to Office directly. You should go through the system’s Fonts folder in Windows Control Panel and the font will work with Office automatically. On the Mac you use the Font Book to add the font and then copy it to the Windows Office Compatible folder. Many third parties outside of Microsoft package their fonts in .zip files to reduce file size and to make downloading faster. If you have downloaded a font that is saved in .zip format double-click the zip file to open it.’
