Every teacher knows what it’s like to have a thousand questions/problems being fired at them by the children. Some of them are necessary and others may not always need a teacher’s attention. This tool helps the children to become independent problem solvers when appropriate. Use the examples (or add your own) to help children decide if they can solve it themselves or tell an adult. Ask them: Where does it fit on the scale? Can they try to solve it first? Does an adult need to know immediately? How serious is this problem?
