This is a 7 year scheme of work for Biology with a spiral curriculum approach that cover the key concept for each year group and revisits and builds up these concepts including Lesson title, Objective, differentiated out comes (Explore, Enhance, Excel - Higher and Foundation for Year 3, 4 and 5), Core Knowledge (highlighted in blue), suggested practical tasks, Text book pages (Hodder education used for A level), Keywords, Maths skills, Career links, Employability skills, Specification links, Prior learning (including KS2 for year 1 and 2), cross-curricular links (only completed for year 1 and 2), Oak national lesson links for online learning. Each Topic also has a key learning statement and British core value statement It is based upon the following specifications: Exploring Science for years 1 and 2 Edexcel Biology (Separate and combined) for years 3, 4 and 5 and OCR A Biology for years 6 and 7

This is an excel document that looks at the different topics in biology and identifies potential misconceptions within them and how to correct them. It also links to applicable key stages. This is used as a working document based on our school’s experience thus may be missing certain misconceptions so feel free to add your own.

I have written this short staff panto: “Robin Hood and his Quarantined crew”, which is approximately 10 minutes in length and written to be recorded on Teams, during this Covid restriction, to allow for our school’s tradition to carry on in someway. This activity covers the 12 main types of specialised cells that students will come across in the the EDEXCEL Combined science specification but would be suitable to for any exam specification or KS3.

A feedback sheet I designed after my year 10 Drama class completed a Mock run through of the component 1 module. I changed the “Level” in the Edexcel Markscheme to “Banding” to avoid confusion with the GCSE 1-9 Grade system. The form allowed me to give specific feed back about the 3 different AOs and overall targeted feedback/ a targeted question that the students could then respond to in the space at the bottom. feel free to edit, e.g. get rid of my departments logo at the top etc… to suit your needs.
