Future Energy Poster

(0)
Activity where students are to develop a poster on the advantages and disadvantages of possible energy sources of the future. Designed for junior science in particular physics. Students consider social impacts of energy solutions. There is possibility for differentiation of how it is presented and also in to the level of depth the student applies to assessing the energy solutions.

structure and bonding - revision cards

(0)
This resource is in the form of revision cards which students cut out and glue the answer on one side and the question on the other. e.g. a molecule with a trigonal planar shape on one side and the words trigonal planar on the other side. They can then use the cards they create as a revision tool either in pairs or individually. Placing the cards face down and working out what is on the other side of the card.
Chemical energetics - bond energies

Chemical energetics - bond energies

(0)
This lesson incorporates a presentation describing what bond energies are and using these values to calculate reaction energy changes. The values of these energy changes is then discussed in terms of exothermic and endothermic reactions. The lesson also includes student activities to test understanding. Designed for KS4 and 5 Chemistry.
Chemical energetics - collision theory

Chemical energetics - collision theory

(0)
This lesson involves a presentation describing collision theory, what makes a successful collision and what are the factors that increase the rate of successful collisions. The lesson also includes activities to test student understanding.

Static Electricity

(0)
This lesson is in the form of a powerpoint presentation for senior physics with short student tasks. In the presentation students will be able to understand the concept of static electricity and the operation of the Van Der Graff Generator.
Electrical Current

Electrical Current

(0)
This lesson is in the form of a powerpoint presentation for senior physics with short student tasks. In the presentation students will be able to Define current as the rate of flow of charge, Identify electrons as the charge carriers in electrical circuits, Identify, use, and explain the equation I = Q/t and Identify, use and explain the equation I = nevA
Electromagnetism

Electromagnetism

(0)
This is a senior physics lesson on electromagnetism consisting of a power point presentation including worked examples and learning tasks.
Electromagnetic induction
doctorharvesdoctorharves

Electromagnetic induction

(0)
This senior physics lesson involves students learning about electromagnetic induction through worked examples and learning tasks. Induction through magnets moving through an electrical field and a wire moving through a magnetic field is discussed.

This is a PowerPoint for teaching electricity especially circuit electricity by analogies. For example the volt as a person carrying buckets of water representing energy. The lesson incorporates both parallel and series circuits and covers current and voltage in both.
Electromagnets

Electromagnets

(0)
A senior physics lesson in the form of a power point explaining the concepts around the properties of electromagnets. The lesson also includes student tasks to test understanding of the lesson.
Chemistry-Trionimoes

This activity is similar to dominoes, just this time with 3 sides! The students cut out the trionimoes and try and build shapes by match sides to each other. The game has three levels of difficulty depending on the level of students. Questions are based on atomic structure and bonding as well as the periodic table
Rate of reaction trading cards

Excellent revision tool for rates of reaction. In pairs, students cut out both sides of the cards and glue them together. Then as one asks the question the other tries to answer it. If you get an answer right, you keep the card. The one with the most cards wins! Designed for KS4 Chemistry.
