Morse Code Music Worksheet - KS3 This worsheet accompanies the Graphic score sequence of learning. Students must spell out their names using the dots and dashes of the morse code key. This is a three lesson series on rhythm and pulse. Students will learn to comprehend rhythm using dots and boxes which will then be converted into using musical notes. This series of remote lessons is based around careers in music. Students are aware of when they must complete a task as there is a specific icon that indicates to do so. The lesson can be done completely remotely as everything is explained within the slides. Each week, the students will look at one career within the music industry that they may not have heard of before. There are multiple tasks for the students to do that are fun and engaging while also being informative. Week 1 focuses on conductors. This resource is aimed at KS3 students.

Rhythm and Pulse: Dots and Boxes (Lesson 1 of 2) This lesson looks at how to read notation and rhythms using dots and boxes using the words tea, coffee and soup. Students interpret when to clap using the dots in the boxes and when to rest using blank boxes. We then build on this using the word coffee to interpret quaver beats and soup to interpret minim notes. Students then do a group performance using polyrhythms in four parts.
