2 weeks of planning linked to 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar.' Includes Literacy and Numeracy activities for Early years and plans for the other areas of the classroom. A selection of worksheets to use in Early years or KS1 linked to the topic minibeasts. Included are counting worksheets, doubling, missing numbers, repeating patterns, phonics, matching to habitats, minibeast hunt, sorting minibeasts, symmetrical butterflies, what am I cards and a research map.

A number hunt which we used as part of our Fairy Tale morning. Children had to find the numbered eggs in the outdoor area and then write down the letters on each egg to spell the word Rumplestiltskin.

Children used the Numcion to investigate how many ways they could make 10 by adding 3 numbers.

I used this plan for a lesson observation in Spring term with Reception children. It involves teaching subtraction from 10 using Numicon.
