Included here are four revision tests for Eduqas GCSE Music 9-1.
Two for SYBG and two for EKN.
NO answers included as it's all straightforward!
Useful for revision, cover, starter....
I have made each question out of 24 - deliberately twice as many as would be in the actual examination.
Each test refers to a section of notation and covers a range of devices and general musical theory.
I have used these with year 11 and given each test twice - to focus revision.
Hope you find it useful!
This excel document will track and generate grades for all units and provide you with a final grade too. Useful for showing learners what they need to do to improve and edge up to the next grade boundary.

This is a substantial support study guide for EDUQAS AOS4: Popular Music
including a wide range of listening activities all referenced to YouTube examples.
Containing 59 slides.
Popular Music from 1950 is looked at in detail from 1950 -2000s.
Each decade is examined and placed in context with world events to support wider understanding of changes affecting the development of musical styles.
As far as possible, I have included nearly all further listening activities as identified in the Eduqas Syllabus, these are all labelled in this guide with the Eduqas logo for easy reference.
You could use this as a work / revision book, individual listening activities or cover.
In addition to popular music styles, there is a Fusion Section with a range of listening examples, providing the student with a useful resource base.
Music Technology has been referenced with an overview of recording formats and most commonly used sound effects. This is a brief guide – this is not a music tech. examination!
This guide aims to support the learner in understanding both the basics and wider aspects of the Area of Study.
This is a complete Listening Examination for the GCSE Music EDUQAS specification.
Updated to correct notation error in question 2 and typos.
What's included here is a fully laid out question paper and full mark scheme as well as mp3 track with all excerpts included in the examination.
All repetitions with timings are in place on the mp3 track. I have not included voice overs with full question read out. The track is easily edited to do this should you desire to add it.
The questions and excerpts used are in line with the SAMs material released by Eduqas last year. I have made question 6 the extended writing question- as in the SAMs - but have been advised by EDUQAS that this could be present in ANY of the AOS.
Some questions have been reworked from exam boards from earlier exams.
Hope you find this useful!
This is a one sheet document specifically designed for students to hand to their visiting instrumental staff or private instrumental staff.
How many times have you explained the G.C.S.E. performing requirements to students and this has been lost “in transit” ?
How many times have you e mailed instrumental teachers to reinforce the performing requirements?
How many times have your students presented a piece to perform that doesn’t quite fit the requirement?
This sheet is simply for students to hand to their instrumental staff for - or for you to e mail directly -so that everyone can be kept well informed. One sheet full of accurate information.
The sheet also simply reminds students of the performance requirements for EDUQAS G.C.S.E. Music.
Hopefully it will be useful to you!
