LO: To select appropriate mathematics and techniques to use You have volunteered to run a game at the school fete in which people each pull numbered balls from a bag. (No actual balls are required!) What different products can you make using the numbers? What is the smallest/largest amount you can make? (e.g. the digits 2, 3, 5 and 7 could create 572 × 3 or 735 + 2) This is an effective way to assess how pupils can use their procedural skills in a reasoning task. 4 levels of differentiation are included in these worksheets.

This is an opportunity to introduce an engaging unit of work based on 'The Beatles'. The final task focuses on writing an interview text between a reporter and a member of 'The Beatles'. This resource is aimed at upper KS2 pupils (Years 5&6) but could also be used with years 7&8. There are good opportunities for focused research on the musician of your choice. This resource also includes a highly stimulating initial PowerPoint presentation, suggestions for success criteria, a model interview script with Sir Paul McCartney and a KWL grid. This resource will take several sessions to complete and all materials can be modified to suit your needs.
