This is a series of 10 question recall tests for use at the start or end of a lesson. This presentation includes quizzes on microscopes, plant and animal cells, specialised cells and bacteria. At the end of each quiz is a slide with just the questions on so that they can be printed off and handed out to students as a starter whilst you do the register. The presentation then goes through each questions with the answer so that students can self assess. Alternatively it can be done as a plenary and rapid fire targeted questions just using the presentation.

This starts by looking at what ionic lattices are, then moves onto how to write the names of ionic compounds and how to write their formulae using the cross over method. 2 differentiated worksheets are also included . I usually follow this lesson with a lesson on writing word and symbol equations ( see my other powerpoint)
Mentoring
jennytribejennytribe

Mentoring

(0)
This is a presentation I have used several times to good reviews for new ITE mentors. It introduces them to the idea of mentoring and what it entails. The fairy tale activity works really well with new ITE trainees and enables the mentor to really get an idea of how the trainee is feeling without it being personal. I have included 3 examples to look at but its much better if you get your own trainees to do one and use that as an example instead.
