This is an arrangement of Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr., currently for flute, oboe, 2 clarinets, alto saxophone, tennor saxophone, bass guitar and drum kit. I have included a pdf copy, ready for printing, as well as 3 Sibelius copies (5,6 and 7) so that you can re-arrange it to suit your ensemble.

This scheme of work is currently being taught to year 9 students although I have taught it with year 8 at a different school. The scheme of work aims to explore different genres of music including different musical devices before the main project which involves the sound being removed from four different clips (of each genre) and asking students in groups to come up with the music to accompany it. The seventh lesson is focused on assessment and evaluation. The embedded videos link to my private YouTube channel and are not able to be found without the link.

This scheme of work is currently being taught to year 9 students although I have taught it with year 8 at a different school. The scheme of work aims to explore different genres of music including different musical devices before the main project which involves the sound being removed from four different clips (of each genre) and asking students in groups to come up with the music to accompany it. The fifth and sixth lessons are focused on the main project. The embedded videos link to my private YouTube channel and are not able to be found without the link. This is the seventh lesson in a game music scheme of work taught to Year 8 (KS3). The scheme of work is taught in conjunction with computer games that the students are making in their ICT lessons. The programme used is garageband and taught via our school’s iPads. This lesson is focussed on peer and self evaluation.

I designed this scheme of work to teach year 7 students about the Instruments of the Orchestra. The scheme of work features mainly listening to the pieces that have been linked in the powerpoint and discussing the different qualities of each instrument. Where possible, I asked students to bring in their own instruments to play so that they could hear the real thing. Alongside teaching this work, I also taught singing, which is what we did for the remaining 2 weeks of term after this power-point finishes.
