This quiz will test your learner’s knowledge of the novel. Once they have read the entire novel, get them to grab their white boards and try to answer each multiple choice question. There are 23 questions for learners to answer which are from chapter 1 to chapter 12 of the novel.

Get your learners to create their own magical creature to add to ‘Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them’ book. They will start by looking at an extract from the book and doing a task on this. An A3 worksheet that learners can fill in as they read through the novel.

The worksheet contains sixteen slang words which appear in the novel. Learners will be asked to match the slang word with the correct definition by drawing a line from the question in the first column to the correct answer in the second column. An answer sheet is provided.

Pride Month Page Borders. These rainbow borders could be used for Pride month to encourage independent writing activities and drawing activities. They come in seven different designs (14 pages) in both blank and writing form.

2X English Article Writing Activities These tasks are based on two UK headlines: Gay conversion therapy and a campaigner’s appeal for gender-neutral passports. The learner will see the headline first and then will be given some information based on that topic. They will then be asked to write an article putting forward their views on this topic. This research/ writing task was created to inform learners that the LGBTQ+ community still do not have certain rights in the UK. These are also great discussion topics for a group debate. Pride bordered writing pages are attached to each task.

An English Article Writing Activity. This task gives the learner the following scenario: Your country’s football team have won the UEFA European Championship! To celebrate, you are planning to host a FREE entry party in the gardens of your local church. Ideas are given to what the learner may want to writing in the article, space is provided for planning and an article planning grid and writing paper are attached.

Learners with ask their partner to finish each word / phrase on their own game-sheet. They will predict what they will write and if their answers are the same, then they score points!

A fun game. One player is asked to answer the scenarios on the page. Once they have answered these questions, the rest of the players answer the same questions with predictions of what the first player would have chosen. The person who predicts the most correct wins! A blank game sheet is attached so learners can create their own football themed game.

Also attached are cartoon pictures of people from the LGBTQ+ community. Cut out the hearts and stick on the wall as part of your Pride display or line them up on a piece of string and make a bunting.
