There are statements on 2X cards each, which use one of the techniques above.
These cards were created so that my learners could play a ‘match a pair’ game. Turn all of the cards over on the table. Get the learners to take it in turns to turn over two cards, if the statements match the technique then they ‘win’ that pair of cards. If they don’t match, then they turn them back over and another player gets to choose two cards. Continue until all the cards are matched.
These can also be used as flash cards or revision cards and the cards are double sided, with a colourful polka dot design on the opposite side.
Also attached, are a set of cards ( buyer to cut out) with each of the following persuasive devices names written on them. You can get your learners to place the correct statement cards under each of these headings.

Get your learners to pick one of the characters from a book they are reading and then create a Facebook profile for that character. They will fill in all of the information that they know about them from the book and add other additional presumed information of their own.
They will also write a status that sums up what that character is feeling at a particular moment in the book.

This is an English activity which can be used with primary and secondary aged learners. The learner will look at each of the 12 emojis and will be asked to write a simile which describes the emotion of each emoji.

24X Irregular Plural Flash Cards
In the exam, learners are expected to write the plural form of a word. They will be expected to know a list of common plural nouns that don’t follow the usual spelling conventions.Each singular noun and its irregular plural form is on one of the 24 cards.
You could add an extension activity and turn this into a matching game ( match the noun to the plural form). Learners could also create a sentence which includes each word.

Twilight English Reading Comprehension Skimming & Scanning Activity & Answers. Functional Skills
An English Reading Comprehension Skimming & Scanning Activity.
This would be ideal for E3 Functional Skills learners and pupils in the KS3 & KS4 age groups.
The learner will read part of Twilight’s Chapter 1. They will then answer 10 questions based on this extract. There is an extension task and the learner is asked to identify any adjectives in a piece of text.
Answers are provided so that learners can self mark.
